Default E3 2012

I would like to dedicate this thread for E3. Now, we don't know if there will be anything about Thief 4 on this E3 but it would be nice if we could be prepared. So if you know of any good livestreams I would like it if you could post them here. Let's be on the lookout together.

D'astous has tweeted "trying to plan next week's chaotic E3 visit... big week for Tomb Raider and Hitman, 2 heavy weights! "

PPPFfftt the T4 situation is a *** joke and this forum is a waste of time, thus I reckon it should be abandoned!

I really hope there'll be something at E3, but don't have any reason to expect it. I don't know what kind of sense the complete silence makes.

Whether or not we see Thief 4, going into E3 my anticipation is high. Of all the times of the year, this has the highest probability of us seeing something.

I believe it's best they keep their silence about Thief 4 for as long as possible. The more they put out the more pressure they add on their own shoulders and that's not beneficial to a healthy creative environment. No release dates, no facts about the game, no screenshots or concept arts till the last three months before the release I'd say. They should concentrate on actually making the game rather than promoting it before it's even halfway done.

I felt that this year was going to be the year, but with Hitman and Tomb Raider, I'm afraid it'll have to be next year . (Again.)

Most anticipated, by Gamespot: http://www.gamespot.com/special_feat...il&tag=nl.e573

No Thief IV which really isn't that surprising I guess.

Yup yup all true!
They will be working to deadlines and budgets though!
I guess your right it wouldn't be all that helpful to be releasing anything before they are happy with it, that would be bad marketing, which obviously they are reserving for this game. But that means they are taking their own path entirely and we're all in the dark!
Opinions flying everywhere, thats all we got!

Seriously, this game has been so long in the making now that it's just ridiculous that they haven't announced a single thing yet. I was kind of hoping they would show something at E3 this year, but my only hope now is if they go with some big surprise and give us a whole bunch of new info at the event. If that doesn't happen then.... I dunno, I guess my hope the game will ever see the light of day is fading.

Wou. How is it possible that there are still people contributing to this forum? Thought it must have been long dead.
I have also been thinking, that Thief 4 will surely be introduced finally this year at E3. After found out, that they didn't release any info and still keep the absolute silence, than there is only one logical explanation and that is they had to slow down development or reworked it I believe due to decision-making, whether to make it on current consoles or the next gens. With next gens, they could implement modern graphics, consistent level design along with spectacular AI. Thief 3 as the current console game improved just graphics, which I think is the least important of those 3 things. And I believe that they wouldn't announce it back in 2009 it they would know there won't be any news next maybe 4 years(which is too long for the game of Thief's scale).
Aaa, good old 90's, when all these games were made just for pc and you didn't have to wait for sequel longer than 2 years.

Yea,but the sequels weren´t really sequels,they felt more like expansion packs(T2,Doom 2,etc...)

Speaking of E3 and stealth games:
http://www.gamekyo.com/newsen46985_e...lack-list.html

+1 point for bringin back the classic suit and NV googles.

T2? If you mean Thief 2, it doesn't feel like an expension pack at all. But If you mean Terminator 2, that I don't know.

Yeah, never mind the fact that none of the screenshots show him doing what he's supposed to (sneaking) and all of them show him fighting and shooting people. And what does he need the goggles for in the day? Why is he even there in the day?

Again we see the confusion delusion in action. Make a sequel that is vastly different from the concept of the series, overcompensate with excessive marketing and promotion, and attribute all the percieved success on the changes made into the game instead of the excessive promotion.

Double Agent wasn't made huge before it arrived like Conviction was. So it sold like the other Splinter Cells did. Conviction was hyped through the roof because the publishers were afraid that a member of a stealth series couldn't appeal to more people even if it was more accessible. Therefore it sold well, because more people were aware of it.

Ergo, this new Splinter Cell follows the same derailing style that the previous one did. Despite the last game recieving huge criticism from everyone other than IGN who were paid to read the brochure with and excited voice and give it a 9 out of 10 just like they do with all big releases.

Imagine what they could achieve if they made a real Splinter Cell game, except with the amount of promotion that Conviction got.

Acording with this:
http://www.meristation.com/es/xbox-3...kinect/1781612
Its in Spanish.
Splinter Cell Blacklist will be "compatible with kinect, allowing you to use your voice to lure guards and order airstrikes(airstrikes?seriously?)"
"It has climbing mechanics similar to Uncharted and Assassins Creed"
"And it will have singleplayer,co-op,and the returning Spyies vs Mercs mode(YES!!!)

EDIT:

Awesome,Mark-and-Execute returns.....

EDIT2:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YuhfD...layer_embedded

WoW,no Michael Ironside...

IGN has seven "SECRET E3 GAMES" on it's schedule for the next few days.

the only good thing about splinter cell conviction was that Michael Ironside was on board to voice him once more.

That gameplay footage of Blacklist is exactly like the first gameplay we saw of Hitman Absolution. A fully linear level with forced and unavoidable action scenes, and no room for subtlety. Does anyone see any way of actually sneaking past those soldiers and getting to the target building without alerts or detections, and getting the information that was required? You know, like what Splinter Cells are supposed to do? I don't think so. Conviction was bad just because of its horrible control and missing gameplay mechanics. But Blacklist blows that out of the water. Not only does nothing seem to be fixed that was done wrong or left unfinished with the previous game, but it has been escalated. Plus the climbing animations and grab-node based climbing mechanics seem to be directly recycled from AssCreed. Actually, the buildings look like they were taken from that game too. It looks like a sarcastic joke of someone who hated both AC and Conviction has materialized into existence.

If that's a stealth game, then the original DOOM is a stealth game too. Because in both games, enemies are in an idle state before you are required by the game to run in and shoot them all.

In Double Agent, you are required to kill 4 people in the entire game, and half of the missions require you to ghost through with zero interaction with enemies, and with a time limit. In Blacklist it looks like it would be a miracle if 4 people are left alive in the end. The apple sure did fall far away from the tree, in a very short time.

There is no need for the classic night vision anymore. Looks like Splinter Cell will only be about daylight missions and line of sight based "stealth". Nah, that isn't stealth anymore unlike the previous titles. It's more hide-and-plan-your-headshots.

Sooo...stealth. Stealth doesn't technically mean move through shadows and be unseen. There are other ways to approtch it.
...I could be eating my own words here....
