Default HOW TO: have your language in the bink videos of Wrace (Nosgothica)

Hi everyone, since i wanted so bad to play again this game on Win 7, and I wanted to play it in its full glory, i struggled around the interwebs, and tried some self made theories and finally found a way to have my native language on the bik files i patched with the .exe found on Nosgothica.org.

I took the rpl files from the cd, loaded em in Rad Tools, http://www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm, (select All Files from the dropdown menu or you won't see them) and then clicked on the "Bink it!" button without touching any options/preference. The program encoded the bik files, and when you try to play them, you only hear the sound and no video will be played. Then i got into the Rad Tools again, and used "Mix in sound" button, selecting first (for example) the intro.bik patched in the root folder of SR, and then for the "Sound file to mix" the other bik videos i encoded before, the Rad Tools created a new file called "New_intro.bik" i then renamed it to intro.bik and i've deleted the old one in the root folder, and voilą! Translated videos in the game FTW! Enjoy

Yeah, it is known simple way to mix video with any sound stream (but I prefer to remove sound stream initially).

How did you do that? RadTools tells me that it won't work with .RPL files :/

"Can't open file xyz.RPL"

Because Toziel used already converted bink-video for SR1 (the name of this thread is "bink videos of Wrace (Nosgothica)" if you pay no heed to this), - look on the link at my signature.

I knew that, but he described that I could just open my .RPL files from the disc, and bink them, but thats not true at all.

All works perfect for me, I'm just working on getting the german sound to your already great .bik cutscenes and thats not possible, cause RadTools isn't allowing me to take just the audio from the .rpl files nor can i bink them to do that.

You can just grub the sound from rpl-files when you running the game, - for example, by Fraps or something like program. And then mix bink-video with this sound.
