Default Ghosting 'Life of the Party'

I wanted to see if any of the old taffers can give some advice on how to ghost the golden boy in Angelwatch. I realize you have to wait him out to fidget forward past the safe. Apparently there are two sticking points and you have to stack objects to divert him past each of the windowsills. I remember seeing a write-up with images by Sneak or Old Man years ago, but that website is no longer working I think. I don't even have the address. I really want to avoid the chemical success here. Any ideas on what objects are needed?

Thanks

Sneak's written report is right here: http://forums.eidosgames.com/old-ubb/

Page 3 of the Thief 2 Ghost/Perfect Thief results in the Archives.

He used the Mechanist Mace from the bedroom next door on the second window and some combination of potions and boxes for the first window. I think Old Man discovered that the child doesn't actually clip potions, so I imagine the 5 boxes are all that's necessary.

Good luck. Word is it takes a total of about 10 hours, and you won't know if your setup has worked until a few hours go by. I might try it for reports here, but I don't want to subject my video viewers to another 10 hour wait. They made fun of me for Cragscleft.

Wow I totally missed that one! I searched for 'Life of the Party' and Sneak had abbreviated the title to just 'The Party'. I guess that's how. I will take a look at it. If it has been done before, I will do it again. I don't care how long it takes.

Oh and while other people made fun of you, I was proud. From one true ghoster to another.

Still working on this guy. 3 days into it now. Got him past the first window using 5 boxes and a scouting orb, but he snagged on the mace. I flipped the mace around and am trying that, but now I have a hard time getting him past the first window again. I think the scouting orb needs to be perfectly placed in the windowsill corner.

Wanna give this one a go Tarvis79? It would be awesome to nail it together. Or are you too busy with T3?

Honestly, t3 is almost absurdly easy. I've made a few attempts at this myself (although not on video-I don't think my hard drive is big enough!), but I'd love to get back to work on it.

You didn't prove everyone wrong and find a way to Supreme Lady Louisa's Suite, did you?

Good to hear! It takes a loooong time to experiment with this guy, so my report might be some time away. I am starting on the following missions (not too worried about the campaign totals) so I might release several reports at once.

I was really hoping to find a way over Lady Louisa's house, but couldn't. In the demo you had two routes to the tower, but not anymore. Supreme isn't possible, but I got past them without a single first alert. I'm not too worried about about supreme success as most of the time that's not feasible, but I always want to supreme as much as I possibly can. The mission is Ghostable with only one first alert.

I managed to get him past the first window again, with only the 5 boxes, nothing in the windowsill. He is working his way towards the second window where I've put the mace in the back half, with the handle part pointing a little bit out from the corner. This is the arrangement I'm unsure of. I tried it the opposite way but he got stuck then. I will leave it on overnight again and see where he ends up.

If he gets stuck again I'll have to start adding potions and other items, but Sneak did say the mace was the perfect tool so I'm hoping. Wish I had a picture still working of how he did it...

Old Man says that he doesn't clip potions, so if you do need extra items use something bulkier. Good luck!

Default Success !!! :D

Left the computer going overnight and when I awoke he was stuck, but this time at the third window! Sneak was right, the mace is the perfect tool if placed with the handle towards the south, slightly out from the corner. I was positioned in the corner by the safe so I can easily sneak out. All I have to do now is replace boxes, mace and keys and leave the tower. Have to loot the bank on my way back and reach the bell tower. The report should be out in a couple of days. I have already sneak peeked at Precious Cargo and the newest FM pack The Black Frog.

It took 6 days in total to nail this guy, and that was with Sneak's report from years back. I can't imagine the time involved in his experimentation not knowing if it was even possible.

Nicely done! I just wrapped up my first attempt and he didn't get by the first window. Inspired by the example of you and Sneak, I shall endure.

I'm multitasking like a boss-Thief 2 is running on my laptop while I record my last few t3 videos on my desktop.

I can't wait to read your report on the whole mission. You not only Ghost better, but you do better writeups than anyone since Sneak himself.
