Having trouble pulling things with rope???

Hi

I'm having problems pulling things with the lasso, rope thing.

I got through the first area after a lot of tugging on things, some time for an extended period but now I'm stuck.

I'm at the point in Bhogavati after getting the arms of the giant statue in position and aligning the fans so the light focuses on the head of the figure, opening the passageway in the floor.

When you enter the next area there is a large snake statute with a ring in it's head.

If I remember correctly from when I've done this before the statue is supposed to fall and break a hole in the floor.

I have spent 15 minutes tugging and pulling but the head won't move.
The ring moves a little but that's it.

Anyone know how to get passed this.
