LOL, not exactly... I can't imagine a true Thief fan showing up on a Thief forum talking about how great Creed is?

I would never do that, that's just crazy!

It's a flawed game, but it did some pretty interesting things. I like it. And you have to be bonkers to claim it's a copy of Thief, the only common thing is a hooded protagonist.

And it's attempt to be a stealth game as good as Thief...

Bonkers? Hummm... I can't argue with you about that, I am bonkers.... yes....

Thief 4 is going to be soooo awesome! With the way graphics have progressed over the last few years on systems like PS3 & XBOX (and new video cards on PCs), I can only imagine what they've turned this game into. Hiding in the shadows was as fun as <BLEEP> back then, now we're all going to be hooked into stealing things!

They've been working on this game for sooo long, I bet they're inventing new techniques in stealth technology so Thief can earn it's reputation back as being the #1 stealth game out there!

'Neat'?
She threw a briar patch at his face! Then pinned him to the wall with it! Just because she then proceeded to pluck the eye out neatly doesn't negate the fact that she pinned his head against the wall with a thorn bush.

not to mention that even if it was a clean pluck, Garrett's eye should of gotten infected, so no matter what his right side of his face got some good damage

I also love how no one has thought that his scar is from the mechanist fixing up his right eye socket. in the last moive in the first game garrett had a protoype version of it, the removeable eye in thief 2 came later

Watch it again, it wasn't briar, it was just vines with leaves, he'd have been cut to bits and DEAD if it had been briar. She also plucked it clean out, you can see there's no tearing or gashes in that cut scene, just blood.

(1:20 for that clean pluck)

Yeah, sure. It was vines. That's why it took Keepers coming to Garrett's aid to get him out from under the soft, plushy vines to escape from the mansion.

You think he'd need help if it were just vines?

I had the same thought, but at the same time... do you really think she cared about being surgical on Garrett? He was just a 'manfool' and a pawn to her at that particular point... I doubt she much cared to be careful about it, or not causing him more pain. Ah, such it is with scorned red eyed nature Dryads...

Assassin's Creed is more related to Prince of Persia than anything else.

To the scar-discussion: maybe Garrett cut himself while he was trying to unplug his mechanical eye.

A reminder, that you are talking to the person who zealously supported an idea that Thief 4 should have a magical blackjack that allows him to knock zombies unconscious.

It does make more sense than Viktoria cause it.
It doesn't matter that Viktoria cares about it or not, it doesn't change result that she was neat.
Being infected can cause such a scar? I don't know.
If he has a scar, can you tell me where it is? all you can show is an ingame model. Why he doesn't have in cutscenes? SIMPLE : Because he doesn't have a scar.

Even If she threw a briar patch, she didn't throw it at his face, but his body. And even If some of them leave scars on his face, they dhould be in his face right, not just his eye.
@Maguwave
Where is that idea came from? Which prototype?

You know, I really start to wonder when people (not just here on this forum, but in real life, too) debate about fictional characters and what they did in a fictional game and how fictional events would play out in the real world (the scar discussion). Come on, people!

Now, back to the "trailer". The reason I keep bringing up Assassin's Creed is not to make people angry, it is to make comparisons. I'm not going to detail the similarities in the games, you all know them. So, what I'm talking about pertains more to reality. See, I'm living in reality.

As far as the games go, Thief is by far superior. I'm no AC fanboy. I haven't even played the latest AC game. However, I am an Ubisoft fanboy and very critical Of Square Enix. I have my reasons, but I prefer to punch and slap around SE whenever I get the chance. They are like the red headed step child who just needs a beatin' once in a while...just for the heck of it.

Ubi does it all right. Ubi play by the rules. Ubi has perfected the formula. I just wish SE would take some notes from their playbook.

I've never played it either (the newest AC). I've watch videos of it, it didn't seem too different than the previous except the maps. I like the Rainbow 6 Vegas games the best, which ones do you like best?

Here is their list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ubisoft_games

(I'm trying to be nice 2u right now, don't ruin it, ha!)

"Magical Blackjack" - I don't remember that conversation (not going to look for it either). In previous Thief games, we had the ability to sneak up behind someone & knock'em out with a quick blow to the head from behind (if we weren't spotted). Then carry the body away to a dark spot somewhere so it wouldn't get found by city watch. That was fun when you're playing by your own rules trying to get thru the entire level without killing anyone. And when you're done with a level, you can go back for a quick worry free search if you didn't get 100% of the loot. If magic has to be put in it for that ability to knock a zombie out, then fine... put magic in it. But magic doesn't have to be required does it?

I feel some autobiographical information is starting to come out.

Because he was bashed against a wall and was likely suffering from shock from losing an eye (because, you know, that's a wee bit traumatic) and the strong emotions elicited by the keepers knocked him back to his senses. He may have also passed out.

That and wood weighs a ton, if I dropped 400lbs of vines on you you might have trouble moving.

Either way it's fairly clear it wasn't briar from the animation, and it's fairly clear his eye was cleanly plucked with no gaping wounds as well.

Oh no you won't start this again. You're not fooling anyone anymore. You can't expect any of us to take seriously the notion that you don't understand why undead can't be knocked out. Last time the "discussion" only went on so long because people couldn't tell you were just trolling, and everyone was just constantly trying to explain to you why brainless reanimated corpses can't lose consciousness, as if you didn't get it.

Dude, you're strange...

You started this conversation about blackjacks and zombies? I have no idea who you are or why you're talking to me like this (don't care either).

I remember talking about magic blackjacks a year ago (or longer), are you having flashbacks? So I wanted a blackjack that can knock out zombies, did it bother you so much that you're still thinking about it today?

That was a poll topic wasn't it? I've been a member here for close to 10 years now, I've talked to just about everyone about everything & voted in just about every poll. Sorry if my vote hurt your feelings.

I don't remember the details of the conversation, but let it go already... geez...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UPDATE! ------ I FOUND IT! ------ That poll was from March of 2011....

And have a nice day!

Tom Clancy Ghost Recon...most anything Tom Clancy (I just started the old novel Debt of Honor) is right up my alley. Prince of Persia is fun, too.

Magical Blackjacks? Huh?

Yeah, back in March of 2011, we voted on a blackjack that would knock out zombies. I found it... it was an epic failure... haha

If you're trying to get thru a level with zero kills, it would be nice to have.

considering that in zombie 'lore' you can only take one down with brain trauma then it would make sense that a blackjack to the head would take one down in thief.

As to the scar on Garrett's face, you only see his eye when Victoria removes it while his cheek is in shadow and you do not see that side of his face for the rest of the cut scene so there is no way to tell if he was scared at that point or not.

Because the ridiculous player model with the sleeveless shirt, useless bracers and glowing eye was put into the game very late in development. So late in fact that the devs didn't have time to render the cutscenes again. It must have been some executive meddling. It exists only ingame, in 3rd person mode. It isn't canon..
Seriously?!?!?!? The IN-GAME appearance of Garrett isn't canon?!?!?! Sorry but you cannot dismiss what he actually looks like because you would prefer he didn't have a scar! It has no bearing on how the game plays anyway so what does it matter, particularly if you play in first person mode.
