Sadly, i expected something different for a Thief4 trailer, after so many years, if all that are true...anyway, this appear to be a Trailer for a next real Trailer.
Garrett look to be a modern ninja, not a personage from METAL AGE period.

I think you're reading far too much into that... This is a third person cinematic, it's not going to be too representative of any kinda of camera moves which go on within the game. I really hope there aren't forced third person moments, but hopefully they'll give us an option to turn them off at the very least. To be honest, the similar system in DE:HR didn't bother me too much in the end; I just got used to it. But I'd certainly rather be Garrett than control him, yeah.

No information has come out of E3. These trailer snippets, as far as we know, have been up online for months.

Please, is it possible for you to talk about Thief rather than yourself all the taffing time?

the cutscenes have always been a bit cartoonish in thief games, feels very consistent with the rest of the series in my view!

I do not know man. This demo reel feels more like TDS in game cutscenes, than TMA-TDP intro-outro's style.

Especially his smile is 99% same from TDS (which I also didn't like AT ALL).
However the lighthouse scene is A-W-E-SOME!!!!!

All in all, I got mixed reactions from this trailer. Was expecting something grittier and draker, I presumre..

Well, if it's really Garrett in this trailer then they would have removed this overbright, glooming eye. A good decision imho.

Well, the only similarity with the TDS in-game cutscenes is that both use 3D models, as opposed to the 2D art / silhouette live-action of the Rustmonkey produced cinematics.

But I mean, really, this Thief 4 video is worlds away from the TDS cutscenes. It's so much more exciting and dynamic.

Thinner than what? If you're making the argument that he looks different, well he looks different in every scene, so the inconsistency is consistent. In the TDP cover he looks like David Duchovny, in the TMA cover he looks like Clint Eastwood, on some TDP concept he looks like Harrison Ford, and on some TMA concept he looks like John Cusack. During his trial scene in TDS he looks like Charlie Sheen for crying out loud.

It doesn't matter what he looks like as long as nobody really knows what he looks like. What really matters is the voice.

C'mon, man. Keep up with what is going on. This was yanked from a professional animator's demo reel. This is simply interesting shots from either a trailer or cinematic the animator worked on. He wasn 't supposed to put it in there, and it has since been removed. Speaking of...

It was removed because the animator broke his non-disclosure agreement by posting it in his demo real, not based on the quality and reaction. It was leaked footage.

I have to say, after seeing the video and being a long time thief fan and Taffer... I am utterly impressed with the look. We all have to realize that although the originals were great, they will not be done entirely the same with the advancement of technology and whatnot, the best that can be done is to get Thief as closely as possible, and it looks to me the steampunk aspect of it has been very well retained. Now what needs to be maintained is, unlike IO and Ubisoft who had the idiocy to drop the voices of their greatest characters for no reason, is that Stephen Russell MUST be the voice of Garrett in this game... that factor alone can make or break this whole thing at this point, especially for me. And for those of you out there who may think that wasnt Garrett in the trailer... just look at that scowl on his 'ninja masked' face as he's picking the safe, with only his left eye visible I think we are very much acquainted with that look, to say nothing of the scar it's self. Very excited Eidos, keep it up and don't do anything foolish

I agree antihero. The trailer actually looks promising all those of you who are grumbling about it should be grate full that its still medieval and still looks like Garrett is the protagonist instead of whining about it looking like TDS the DEVS know it was a flop and im sure mistakes have not been repeated and it makes perfect sense to cover Garrets face dont know why they didn't in the first place. Garrett is in some ways like a ninja if he wasn't a master thief what else would he be!.

i'd like to point out that at the end, one of the running guards has a metal helmet that looks straight out of the frist two games... the shallow upside-down bowl with the somwhat wide brim.

i have to think that EM will take the same approach to this as DX... and thief will have roughtly the same"hey this reminds me of the old game but is new" feel... or at least to the same extent as DX..

which, for me... is great.
