Default Soul Reaver 2 and Blood Omen 2 GAMEPAD use.

Hello dear LoK community!

Well, maybe this topic is old, but this is the first time I got myself a PC gamepad (unbelievable I know :P I have been playing just with my keyboard all along), and I tested it with SR1, BO1 and Defiance and it works brilliantly, but when I play BO2 and SR2, I don't seem to be able to select the option Keyboard+Gamepad as many of the web resources I found say... Is there some sort of patch or solution for this? Or which alternative would you suggest?

I hope you can help me with this small issue and look forward to your answers!

Ps. Sorry for asking about BO2 as well in the SR area... I just thought I might just mention both of them instead of creating two threads

Best Regards

Gamepad (Logitech RumblePad 2) worked for me without any bigger problems. No updating or "hacking" was required. I still had to make profiles and bind D-Pad to keyboard keys to enable it in game for Dark Gift/Glyph/Reaver menu, and I couldn't enable vibration in SR2 or BO2, but that's another story.

It looks like a driver problem. What is the gamepad's model? If it has any dedicated software - try installing it. If you have already done so - try uninstalling it .

Hi man!

Actually, I don't know my gamepad's brand... and it just appears as plug and play generic joystick in the drivers... so I can't tell for sure, its just a cheap gamepad I got to play Darksiders cause playing that with keyboard was going to give me artritis haha and I thought, let's give it a go with LoK!

I managed to solve the issue installing Joy2Key and emulating the keyboard buttons in the gamepad and so far is doing alright... easier than I thought. But thank you for your advice and also thanks to Mr. blincoln for posting this in the Lost Worlds site.

Regards!

If it's listed as a joystick then you probably know why you can't select a gamepad .

As for the brand - There should be something written on it (other than "made in China"). Generic Windows drivers usually aren't recommended if a dedicated alternative exist, so I would still encourage you to do a little research on this.

The problem with Joy2Key from what I understand is that you lose the only advantage that a gamepad has over keyboard - analogue movement. So you don't gain any functionality, but you lose the camera control precision offered by mouse.

And by the way - Darksiders works perfectly fine with mouse and keyboard. Having a choice between a gamepad and M&K I still think the latter is a better solution.

The gamepad is undeniably a better solution for Defiance however.
