It's competition time again!

As you may have noticed from the timestamp of this post, we have been planning this comp for quite some time! As promised, this comp is EPIC; our largest one yet! (Both in prizes and in comp terms.)

Forum member Rian aka LARALOVERnr.1 has contacted us some time last year to pitch the idea of this comp to us. He has been running a few of them himself in the past. He has helped us out planning this comp and will also give us a hand running it. Because of all of this, he will have a seat on the official jury in this comp.

Because we liked Rian's idea so much, we wanted to make sure there will be a fitting prize. Meagan asked one of the devs to make something special for this comp. He just finished it a few days ago....and special it is! The prize looks gorgeous! But more on the prizes later, first I'll tell you what this comp is all about.

This time we'd like ya'all to get crafty and create a piece of TR Fan Art BY HAND.

Drawings, paintings, paper craft, custom toys, jewellery, crafts using clay, felt, nature things (leafs, stones, twigs, etc), Papier-mâché, aluminium foil, fabric (e.g. making clothes), cork, matches / Popsicle sticks, Lego, meccano or cardboard, scale models, sewing, knitting, baking (cakes, sweets, cookies, etc), sand sculptures, welding, hand-made cosplay accessories.....anything goes, as long as it's Tomb Raider related and not done on the computer.

- Maximum number of entries per person/household: 5

- We're running this comp for a whole 2 months this time, to give everyone plenty of time to come up with something spectacular!

Note: Your entry may depict any character or scene from the TR universe, but as an extra incentive to create something related to the upcoming Tomb Raider (2012) game, Crystal Dynamics may (depending on quality) offer to pay to ship said entry to the office in Redwood City, if you're willing to part with it. It will then receive a prominent place in a display case in the studio's lobby, so that every employee and visitor can admire your fan art, whether it wins in this comp or not

THE PRIZES!

We've had some exclusive items before in previous comps, but this time the prizes are really exclusive. Crystal Dynamics' Art Director Brian Horton himself has made an original HAND DRAWN sketch, which he created especially for this forum comp. He'll be giving that original piece away to one VERY lucky fan, as well as a set of framed and signed copies to 3 additional winners.

Yes, folks, this mean that one of you is going home with the original version of a sketch made by a Tomb Raider developer. You'll own something totally unique, a one-of-a-kind in the whole wide world!

Step 2 - Post the generated image code in this thread (http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=124079). IMPORTANT! DO NOT FORGET THIS STEP!

How do I win?

There will be 4 winners in 4 different categories:

- Grand Champion: The most impressive entry as voted by an official jury. This winner gets first choice of prize.

- Forum Choice: The most impressive entry as voted by the public. This winner gets second choice of prize. If the Forum Choice winner is the same as the jury-selected Grand Champion, the second highest voted entry will be selected.

- Most Original Entry: The most creative or original entry as voted by an official jury. This winner gets third choice of prize.

- Random Draw: This winner will be chosen randomly using random.org to encourage participation by those who may not be artistically inclined. This winner gets forth choice of prize. The Random Draw winner will be chosen after all other winners are announced. If the Random Draw winner is the same as the jury-selected Grand Champion, the Forum Choice, or Most Original Entry, successive numbers will be drawn until an unselected entry is chosen.

The usual obligatory jury FYI: The official jury will consist of Eidos Forum staff members and/or Square Enix employees and/or forum members. The exact method of voting will be announced once the comp is closed for entries. The (forum) names of the jury members and their votes will be publicly available once the winners have been announced. Public voting will be available for all forum members who have reached GAMER STATUS.

The rules

Maximum 5 entries per person/household.
Keep your entry clean, in good taste and in accordance with our FORUM TOU.
The deadline for submitting entries is Wednesday, 30 May 2012, 12PM CET (click here to convert)
We reserve the right to extend the deadline, for example if we receive a low number of entries.
In the event of a tie, the person who posted first wins.
Contestants can only win 1 prize; not a combination of for example 1st prize and 3rd prize.
In cases of suspected fraud, winners are responsible for proofing ownership of their entry in order to claim their prize.
Any entry that the forum staff deems inappropriate or not complying with the rules will not qualify and will be removed from this thread.
Winners will be notified via PM and email. Winners must respond with their postal address within 2 weeks of being notified or else their prize may go to someone else.
Judges decisions are final.

Cette fois nous voulons vous voir créer un Fan Art TR A LA MAIN.

Dessins, peintures, papercraft, jouets customisés, bijoux, que ce soit en pâte à modeler, en argile, en feutre, en matériaux naturels (comme des feuilles, des pierres, des branches d’arbre, etc), en papier mâché, avec des feuilles d’aluminium, en tissu (par exemple des vêtements), en liège, en tricot, en matériaux culinaires (petits gâteaux, bonbons, biscuits, etc), sculptures de sable, métal soudé, accessoires de cosplay... tout fonctionne, du moment que c’est lié à Tomb Raider et que ce n’est pas fait sur un ordinateur.

Exemples :

- Vous avez le droit de proposer quelque chose que vous avez créé avant le lancement de ce concours.

- Nombre maximum d’entrées par personne/ménage : 5.

Brian Horton, directeur artistique chez Crystal Dynamics, a réalisé un unique dessin A LA MAIN, qu’il a mis de côté spécialement pour ce concours. Il mettra ce dessin en jeu, ainsi que trois copies signées.
Oui, les amis, ça veut dire que l’un d’entre vous sera en possession du dessin original réalisé par le directeur artistique de Tomb Raider. Vous serez en possession d’un objet totalement introuvable, unique exemplaire dans le monde entier !

Etape 2 – Postez le code de l’image généré dans ce sujet. ATTENTION, ETAPE IMPORTANTE A NE PAS OUBLIER !

Comment gagner ?

Il y aura quatre gagnants dans quatre catégories différentes :

- Grand Champion : La création la plus impressionnante sera élue par un jury officiel. Ce gagnant remportera le prix de son choix.

- Prix du Forum : La création la plus impressionnante selon le vote du public. Ce gagnant bénéficiera du deuxième choix de prix. Si le Prix du Forum est le même que le Grand Champion, la seconde création ayant reçu le plus de votes sera sélectionnée.

- Création la plus originale : La création la plus inventive ou la plus originale sera élue par un jury officiel. Ce gagnant pourra choisir son prix en troisième position.

- Tirage au sort : Ce gagnant sera choisi au hasard via random.org, afin d’encourager la participation de tous ceux qui ne se sentent pas une âme d’artiste. Ce gagnant choisira son prix en quatrième position, et sera annoncé après les autres. Si le gagnant tiré au sort est le même que le Grand Champion, que le Prix du Forum ou que la Création la plus originale, d’autres créations seront successivement tirées au sort jusqu’à ce qu’une création non encore sélectionnée soit pêchée.

A propos du jury : Le jury officiel sera constitué de membre de l’équipe d’Eidos Forums et/ou d’employés Square Enix et/ou de membres du forum. La méthode exacte des votes sera annoncée à la fin de la période de soumission des créations. Les noms d’utilisateur des membres du jury seront annoncés une fois les gagnants révélés. Le vote public sera ouvert à tous les membres du forum ayant atteint le statut de GAMER.

Les règles

Come vincere?

Ci saranno quattro vincitori in quattro categorie diverse:

- Grand Champion: La presentazione più sbalorditiva, votata direttamente da una giuria ufficiale. Questo vincitore otterrà i premi della prima categoria (Premio #1).

- Scelta del Forum: La presentazione più sbalorditiva, votata direttamente dal pubblico. Questo vincitore otterrà i premi della seconda categoria (Premio #2). Se il vincitore votato come Scelta del Forum è lo stesso che la giuria ufficiale ha selezionato come Grand Champion, verrà selezionata la seconda presentazione più votata.

- Presentazione più Originale: La presentazione più creativa ed originale votata dalla giuria ufficiale. Questo vincitore otterrà i premi della terza categoria (Premio #3).

- Opera a caso: Questo vincitore sarà scelto casualmente, usando random.org per incoraggiare a partecipare anche coloro che non siano particolarmente inclini a livello artistico. Questo vincitore otterrà i premi della quarta categoria (Premio #4). Il vincitore Opera a caso sarà scelto dopo che sono stati annunciati tutti gli altri vincitori. Se il vincitore Opera a caso è lo stesso che la giuria ufficiale ha selezionato come Grand Champion, o Scelta del Forum, o Presentazione più originale, saranno ripetute le estrazioni fin tanto che non sarà scelta una presentazione non ancora selezionata.

Dieses Mal möchten wir euch auffordern, ein Stück TR-Fan-Art VON HAND zu erstellen.

Zeichnungen, Gemälde, Papiermodelle, selbstgemachtes Spielzeug, Schmuck, Werkstücke aus Lehm, natürliche Materialien (Blätter, Steine, Äste, etc), Pappmaché, Alu-Folie, Stoff (z.B. zur Herstellung von Klamotten), Kork, Streichhölzer, Eisstile, Lego, Baukästen, Kartons, Modelle, nähen, sticken, backen (Kuchen, Süßigkeiten, Kekse, etc.), Sandskulpturen oder handgefertigtes Cosplay … alles geht, solange es mit Tomb Raider zu tun hat und nicht mit dem Computer gemacht wurde.

Hinweis: Euer “Werkstück” kann jedes Zeichen oder eine Szene aus dem TR Universum darstellen, aber als zusätzlichen Anreiz etwas zum kommenden Tomb Raider (2012) Spiel zu erstellen, bietet Crystal Dynamics vielleicht an (kommt auf die Qualität an) die Versendung ins Büro in Redwood City zu übernehmen, wenn Ihr einwilligt. Es erhält dann einen besonderen Platz in einer Vitrine im Foyer, so dass jeder Mitarbeiter oder Besucher eure Arbeit bewundern kann, egal ob es den Wettbewerb gewonnen hat oder nicht!

In den bisherigen Wettbewerben hatten wir einige exclusive Preise, aber dieses mal sind die Preise wirklich exklusiv. Crystal Dynamics’ Art Director Brian Horton hat eine original HAND GEZEICHNETE Skizze speziell für dieses Foren-Gewinnspiel erstellt. Er gibt dieses Original weiter, so wie drei unterschriebene Kopien.

Wie gewinne ich?

Es wird vier Gewinner in vier verschiednen Kategorien geben:

- Grand Champion: Der beeindruckendste Eintrag, gewählt von einer offiziellen Jury. Dieser Gewinner bekommt den ersten Preis.

- Forum Auswahl: Der beeindruckendste Eintrag, gewählt von der Öffentlichkeit. Dieser Gewinner bekommt den zweiten Preis. Sollte der Gewinner der Öffentlichkeit und der der Jury der selbe sein, gewinnt der mit den zweit meisten Stimmen.

- Der originellste Eintrag: Der kreativste oder originellste Eintrag, gewählt von einer offiziellen Jury. Dieser Gewinner erhält den dritten Preis.

- Zufalls Gewinner: Dieser Gewinner wird zufällig via random.org ausgewählt für die, die künstlerisch nicht so begabt sind. Dieser Gewinner bekommt den vierten Preis. Der Zufalls Gewinner wird erst ermittelt, wenn alle anderen Gewinner bekannt sind. Sollte der Gewinner bereits Grad Champion, Forum Auswahl oder der originellste Eintrag sein, werden die darauf folgenden Teilnehmer genommen, bis wir einen Eintrag haben, der noch nicht gewonnen hat.

Die übliche obligatorische Jury FYI: Die Jury wird aus Eidos Foren Personal und / oder Square Enix Mitarbeitern und / oder Foren Mitglieder bestehen. Die genaue Art der Abstimmung wird bekannt gegeben, sobald der Wettbewerb für Einträge geschlossen wird. Die (Foren) Namen der Jury-Mitglieder und ihre Stimmen werden der öffentlichkeit bekannt gegeben, sobald die Gewinner bekannt gegeben wurden. En esta ocasión, nos gustaría que todos vosotros seáis creativos y elaboréis una pieza de arte fan TR A MANO.

Dibujos, pinturas, artesanía con papel, juguetes personalizados, joyería, artesanías con barro, fieltro, cosas naturales (hojas, piedras, ramillas, etc), Papier-mâché, papel de aluminio, tela (por ejemplo ropa), corcho, cerillas / palitos de helado, Lego, meccano o cartón, maquetas, coser a mano, a máquina, cocinar (tartas, dulces, galletas, etc), esculturas de arena, soldaduras, accesorios hechos a mano para cosplay… cualquier cosa, siempre y cuando esté relacionado con Tomb Raider y no hecho por ordenador.

- Está permitido participar con algo que hayas creado antes de éste concurso.

- Máximo número de entradas por persona: 5

- En ésta occasion, el concurso tiene una duración de 2 meses, para dar a todo el mundo el tiempo suficiente de crear algo spectacular.

¿Como gano?

Habrá cuatro ganadores en cuatro categorías diferentes:

- Gran Campeón: La entrada más impresionante votada por un jurado oficial. Este ganador obtendrá el premio #1.

- Elección del Foro: La entrada más impresionante votada por el público. Este ganador obtendrá el premio #2. Si la Elección ganadora del foro es la misma que la del jurado seleccionado para el Gran Campeón, entonces será seleccionado la segunda entrada más votada.

- Entrada más Original: La entrada más creativa u original votada por el jurado oficial. Este ganador obtendrá el premio #3.

- Sorteo: Este ganador será elegido aleatoriamente usando random.org para animar la participación para aquellos que no tienen una inclinación artística. Este ganador obtendrá el premio #4. El sorteo será elegido después de que todos los demás ganadores hayan sido anunciados. Desenhos, pinturas, paper craft, brinquedos personalizados, joalheria, artesanato usando argila, feltro, coisas naturais (folhas, pedras, galhos, etc), Papel machê, folha de alumínio, tecido (ex. fazer roupas), cortiça, fósforos / paus de gelado, Legos, meccano ou papelão, modelos em escala, costura, malha, pastelaria (bolos, doces, bolachas, etc), esculturas de areia, soldadura, acessórios de cosplay feitos à mão.....vale tudo, desde que seja relacionado com Tomb Raider e não seja feito no computador.

Как я могу победить?

Всего будет выбрано 4 победителя в разных категориях:

- Главный победитель: Автор самой впечатляющей работы, которая будет выбрана членами официального жюри. Данный участник удостоится главного приза.

- Приз форумных симпатий: Работа будет выбрана путем публичного голосования. Победитель этой категории получит второй приз. Если мнение публики совпадет с мнением жюри, то приз перейдет к следующему участнику с наибольшим количеством голосов, набранным в открытом голосовании.
- Самая оригинальная работа: Самая креативная или оригинальная работа будет выбрана членами официального жюри. Автор этой работы получит приз #3.

So even if you're not so talented with drawing (like I am) or other hand crafts, I'm sure you can still make something nice to have a shot at the random draw prize

Thanks for the heads up! Yes, that must've been a little translation error. Members are definitely allowed to enter with fan art that they already made before this competition. We'll contact the translator to get that corrected ASAP.

Or, if you (or someone who speaks French) could post what that text *should* be, I'll go edit it right away.
