Thumbs down No respect for older games...

Why is there no mention of Anachronox not only on the Eidos website but also the forum itself!?

In my opinion it deserves its own board.

Had it been more popular there were plans for a Dreamcast port of the game. Either way I think this game deserves a lot more respect then it's currently getting, Eidos seem to just ignore it like it was some bad dream and yet it's one of the most unique, interesting and creative games I've ever played. The only reason it didn't sell too well was... Well just read that wikipedia article I guess
Eidos has shown a huge lack of support and interest in it which has caused many people to know nothing about the game and poor Tom Hall still wanting to make a sequel is unable to do so as Eidos still clearly holds the rights but they're clearly not interested in the game at all.

Like many games Anachronox once had a its own board but it was closed due to lack of activity/interest.

Well I can't see it in your "Games Archive" and it still doesn't explain why the game seems to get shunned into the corner and ignored by Eidos.

Cool

Our archives were created after the switch to new forum software in 2002. The forum basically started from scratch. I honestly don't remember when exactly Anachronox forum disappeared (before or after the switch) but current forum archives obviously don't contain forums for every game Eidos has ever published.

SE does have a support page for Anachronox (with 1.01 patch probably being the most useful item there). As to why SE/Eidos' ignores this 10 year old game - I have no idea.

It's so cruel and wierd
I mean literally all I expected was at least some mention about it but there's non on Eidos's games page (hell they even list "The Nomad Soul" there which imo was an incredibly obscure game).

Cool

As I've said, I'm not 100% sure that Anachronox board was deleted. It's possible that it simply didn't survive the transition to vBulletin. Technically, none of the forums did, but all active ones were re-created and all users had to re-register.

How long does a board have to remain effectively inactive to be shut down? Is it a committee decision?
Years.. most likely. It may or may not be discussed, but Eidos/SE has the final word.
