Default [PC Patch] 15th September 2011 - Build 630

The new patch addresses a variety of issues as well as adds some new features:

Fixes:
- We have addressed various issues that can occur for players that would result in ‘stuttering’.
o Stutters that are the result of graphics driver shader processing are now removed or significantly reduced.
o Stutters that are the result of data streaming have been removed or significantly reduced.
o Performance has been improved and made more stable on dual-core systems. This could previously also result in stuttering.
- Fixed issue where some players couldn’t complete the Motherly Ties side quest.
- Fixed an issue where doors in Omega Ranch sometimes wouldn’t open.
- The TYM medical card should no longer fall through the table if an NPC’s body comes into contact with the card. Players already stuck in this area will need to revert to a previous save before the card fell through.
- Occasional hangs for some players during video-playback have been fixed.
- A crash on startup when running DX11 on a single-core CPU has been fixed.
- An issue causing Eyefinity setups to not be correctly detected for some players has been fixed.
- Fixed an issue where the HUD would get permanently disabled for some players.
- Fixed certain issues that caused the mouse cursor to be able to leave the game-screen on multi-monitor setups.
- Fixed an issue that caused the mouse cursor to not be visible in-game when the user has mouse trails enabled in Windows. We still recommend disabling mouse trails for a smoother in-game mouse cursor.
- Fixed issue where ammo count for collected guns is incorrect when Adams weapon is augmented.
- In DX9 mode:
o Fixed error message for some users when trying to use FXAA Medium or FXAA Low anti aliasing modes.
o Fixed shadow-mapping ‘lines’ on some graphics hardware when using anisotropic filtering.

Feature Additions:
- The Enter and Numpad-Enter keys can now be bound to game actions in the keyboard control menu.
- Intro logos can now be skipped on all but the first run of the game.
- Added windowed mode.
o Selectable in the menu, and can be toggled between windowed, fullscreen, and fullscreen windowed using ALT-ENTER.
- Added an option to change the text language of the game. This setting only changes the text language, the audio is controlled by the language option in Steam.

On top of this we are continuing to monitor for any issues that may need to be addressed in a future patch. One extra feature we can already confirm for a future patch is support for Nvidia 3DVision and Nvidia Surround.

We hope this patch will allow players to further enjoy Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

After a minimal amount of testing, this patch does seem to have fixed the stuttering. Good job .

Too bad nothing is done about the SSAO, but I guess I can't everything at once .

I am sorry to say that even with the new patch applied the stuttering remains for me... What's going on here?

i5 2500k 3.3 Ghz
8GB Ram
ATI 6970 playing in DX11

In windowed mode I don't recieve any stuttering btw.

I just got home and started playing with the new patch installed, stuttering not fixed, played about 2 minutes and my computer crashed and restarted. Is there a way to go back to the old patch? At least I had never crashed with the old patch level.

Cannot play DE at all, keep getting crashes to desktop and my customised controls aren't saved (I'm assuming this is because of the crash - even though I do an ingame save straight away after changing)

When first starting out to play, the game would crash after about a minute when getting down the stairs and Megan was talking to Eric.

Things I have tried:
- /sfc scannow to see if there are any problems with my windows and uninstalled some language files that were corrupt - no fix, but game would get into the lift with Megan/ Jensen before crashing

- Verified cache integrity on Steam - no fix

- Tried with different texture filtering (Trilinear/ 16x Anisotropic/ Bilinear) - Although probably not anything to do with it, I have reached the second level and am now trying to meet Sarif at the Helipad using 16x

- DE crashed to desktop and then updated to 630, after this I updated my g/card drivers to 280.26 - No change, still crashing in the same place trying to meet Sarif. I have only ONCE had a message from the action centre saying the g/card drivers stopped/ restarted.

CPU: i7 2600
G/Card: MSI nVidia 570 GTX
RAM: Corsair 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz
Mobo: Asus P8P67 Pro R3 P67 Socket 1155
O/S: Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit

[Edit: can you also PLEASE add being able to put "-novid" in the launch properties so I don't have to sit through the splash screens every time the game crashes (I don't even want to press Enter to speed it up, loading straight to the menu is what I want thanks)]

[Edit #2: Disabled DX11, no crash ]

If you've tried ENB series stuff you may have legacy stuff from this?

Apologies but I'm a bit confused. Could you please confirm whether the TYM tram bug has been addressed in this patch?

An issue in this area has been fixed, but dont think it is this specific issue.

Am wondering how many have tried ENBseries workaround and this is stopping the official `patch` from having its effect.

I doubt the ENB fix has anything to do with it, once you delete the ENB files, or even one file it needs, it cant really inject it in the game anymore and activate. Not to mention the ENB fix only activates in DX9 it has no effect in DX11 (and im playing Dx11 now). But yeah still getting stuttering here, same exact ones, same spots.

Yes i made sure theres nothing left, no files from the ENB fix and re-verified my game cache. I feel no change at all, the stuttering hasnt been reduced even, and it occurs at the exact same spots still.

I never used ENB and still stuttering here, also can't change resolution in windowed mode, was that intentional?

Yeah i made sure nothing was left of the ENBfix like the cache folder or what ever .. verifed the game files even deleted the exe and let steam DL that again but no joy.

Made a 1 min 45 sec long vid only 200mb in size but its taking Youtube ages to upload and process it : ( vid will have to wait till tomorrow.

I've never used ENB either, and had only minor stuttering, which I still have, but now I can only play 2-3 minutes before my computer crashes and reboots. I've changed nothing on my PC except I'm now at the new patch level. IS there any way to go back to the old version??? I was really doing OK with the stuttering...

through Steam no, but you could download the release day version from piratebay and transfer the save files (just keep the save files when you unistall it from Steam though)

still got stutters here but i stopped playing the game anyway, Red orchestra 2 is out! i'll come back to it next year when either the stutters are fixed or i have a much beefier PC

Just tried the update. I've never used the ENB patch. I am still experiencing stuttering. Although maybe somewhat reduced? Played for 5 minutes and found 2-3 "hotspots" in the downtown Hengsha level where if I cross over a certain point on the map I will stutter 100% of the time. It's like an invisible line. If I cross it either way the frames drop for a second.

Stuttering is still very much present in DX9, plus now I get these extended periods of several seconds where the framerate is consistent but horrendously low, like 10-20 fps.

Stuttering is nearly gone in DX11. This is good, but this issue: http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=121269 is still present. Whatever it is, I'd bet it's not that hard to fix, considering you somehow managed to avoid it in DX9. Please look into it.

Seems a big improvement to me. In fact after 2 hours play I've changed back to DX11 and upped some settings that I had turned down before, will see how that goes.
