If you have the technical know how to set-up a gorgeous set-up like that, and get all your board, power supply and memory matched up to the card and whatnot, I think you should be well aware that there's no chance in hell that anything these days has a hope in hell of hurting something that potent.

Yes I have, I'm an IT graduate. The thing is: I never heard about this mod but when I saw the screenshots I really liked it and thought it would be really cool to play with it on.
But I also know that since this is user made, it's not as heavily tested and stressed as company-made. Enhancing smoke, water, particle effects, shadows, lightning etc can really have a huge impact on the GPU. I've always stayed away from mods but I have to take my hat off for this one.
My worry was that it could harm my PC in any way since I never overclock and always use stock settings AND because I'm an extremely conservative user.

PS: I've already had a fried GPU in a Starcraft 2 mod so that's why I'm so scared =) it's pretty frustrating.

Well, if VRMs do not fail the only thing that can possibly kill a VGA board is heat. But heat with a correct monitoring (=working sensors + GOOD WHQL certified drivers) is manageable.
Do you remember ForceWare 196.75 WHQL "burn" scenario? Problem lay in drivers, not in hacked applications.

That's just it - even bogging down that card with as much graphical wizardary as you can find shouldn't get it to the point of overheating, not with proper airflow, and especially not stock-clocked. Otherwise turning on a game to max settings on a weak rig would be destroying your card, as opposed to just bogging the hell down.

Hmmm. Thank you very much. That was pretty much what I had in mind but I had to confirm this. That's why I never overclock, so I don't have to worry with overheating.
Thanks a lot! I'll soon give this mod a go! Congratulations for the awesome work!

Reflection feature - more than correct SSAO - is such a great thing in this game, I can't realise developers did not figure it.

I have no idea how to get rid of it. I've got the latest Directx, Nvidia drivers etc, but still no luck.

Any help would be appreciated!
I'm having the same issue, can anyone help please?
