Default Delayed Audio

I am currently experiencing audio where all sound effects occur after an action. i.e. shooting, explosions, dialogue.

I am running the most up-to-date version on steam.

Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Gigabyte MA 770 UD3 Mobo
AMD Phenom 965 @ stock speeds
4 gigs of RAM
ATI Radeon 6970 w/ 2gig memory
Asus Xonar Essence STX
Intel x-25M (windows partition)
WD 640g 7200rpm drive (steam + games)

Thoughts?

You and me both buddy. I'm refraining from playing right now because it really detracts from the experience. Sucks cause I feel like I just put 50 hard-earned bucks down the drain

Same here, I posted this on the Steam board to get it noticed and fixed. I'm also refraining from playing now and it sucks too.

Here is some random youtube video about this issue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27qbN1nx2C0
I have to mention that it's much more noticeable in the actual game than in this video. Also this video only demonstrates the gun-fire sound, but for me EVERY sound in the game is delayed. Some say it happens because DX11 is enabled, but either way it should be fixed.

EDIT. Here's the Steam thread. Complain there aswell if you like. http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...1#post24766591
EDIT2. Here's another youtube video about this problem and if you bother to read the comments section, there are many others having the same issue. http://www.youtube.com/all_comments?v=TVFYQL5zC6Q

My rig:

Gigabyte ga-ma790gp-ds4h
Gigabyte Radeon HD6950 1GB OC
AMD Phenom II x4 920 (@ 3,2ghz]
4GB Kingston 800mhz DDR2 RAM
Creative X-fi XtremeGamer
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

It seems as if they are selectively posting in certain threads and not in others. I haven't seen a single mod post in any of the audio delay threads, and there's not even a sticky about it. Several people are experiencing this issue, and I know that realtek in and of itself is not the problem because there are people experiencing it with creative cards as well.

What gives? Can we at least get a couple words of acknowledgment?

I see three hardware similarities here.

A gigabyte 700 series Mobo (I have the ma770).
Radeon 6900 series video card.
Phenom II series processor.

Anyone else experiencing problems AND sporting similar hardware? Give a heads up on this.

Yup, same here.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V Pro
Processor: Intel Core i7 2600k 3.4GHz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 1600
Video: EVGA GeForce GTX 580 DS (Superclocked) [280.26 drivers]

Edit: I'm using optical audio, are you guys? I'm trying to find out if it's just dudes with optical or not.

I happen to use optical audio aswell. I could try to plug in my headphones directly to my 3,5mm jack on the sound card and see if that helps. I'm going to post back soon.

Ok, I'm already back and have to say that it didn't fix the issue. I actually think that the delay was lesser than with my speakers which receive their audio digitally, but it was still too noticeable and bothering. And even if it wouldn't bother me, it still of course should be fixed.

Not using optical audio. The only trend I can see is that Creative is getting the worst of this issue.

I have the same audio lag. DX9 mode does not help. I too have a gigabyte motherboard... I'll contact the shop i bought the game and see if I can return the game, referring to this thread and other sources. We have very strict consumer laws in Norway, maybe it will alert the right people. I'll re-purchase the game again when they fix it!

gigabyte ga-965p-ds4 chipset driver 9.2.0.1030
auzentech x-fi hometheater HD with drivers 1.13

I just bough this game and got this sound delay bug as well.
Very disappointed that this issue has not been fixed as I was really looking forward to playing this game.
Guess there's no hope for a fix now
