Yeh, after visiting their website I noticed they also worked on "Project: Snowblind" which was the last extremely buggy PC game I have ever played ( never finished, sold on Ebay to some other poor sap). Now I can only conclude that we are doomed with this port. Such a shame.

This game dont use multiple cores wery well compared to Crysis 2 for example. Im using a X2 260 3,2Ghz cpu nothing special but i noticed that the first core is at max, the second runs at like 20-30% max like its not doing much and this is at 1920x resolution its weird for so low cpu usage.

I guess I should have gotten this for the PS3 instead. It's a shame that the sequel to one of the greatest PC games of all time is effectively console only because the PC version is an unplayable stutter fest, and the developer can't or won't fix it.

Also, why isn't this thread stickied? This stuttering is the main technical problem with the game at the moment.

Yeh, I had planned on getting it on the PS3 because I was under the impression that this was only being developed for console gaming. Then after reading that bit stating that it was being optimized for the PC I was like cool, I would rather play it on the computer anyway. I usually wait a while until I make a purchase when games are released but since this was Deus Ex I just went for it.

Has anyone from EIDOS even acknowledged this problem? I mean this is a highly anticipated AAA-title that has serious but seemingly fixable issues, and no one seems to be addressing them.

It's very simple: People are getting FRAME SKIPS AND STUTTERS while playing on high-end systems with constant 60FPS and above. EIDOS: Are you working on it? Do you know about this problem? Will you fix it? Will it take some time?

Just do your community a favor and look into your Tech forums every once in a while... and if you're having a good day, drop us a line or two. We know you're working hard and all, we just want to be kept in the loop about what's going on with our 50$-broken-purchase.

Default Stuttering\Freeze

Hi, been trying different things but nothing works

-Problem

Game has goof fps but lags\halts when i move over small distances, also as i turn around it happens. Takes a few seconds for it to clear up, feels like some kind of loading or memory issue.

-Troubleshooting

First thing i did was drop graphic settings (tested everything including lower resolutions and V-Sync\Triple-Buffering)

Now the weird thing is that when i dropped down to DX9 and lowered all the graphic settings the game minimized and claimed my card did not have enough resources.

Unplayable on DX9, playable on DX11 with good fps but constant lag\stuttering

Misc: Defragged, Disk Cleanup, Virus Check, Validated File Cache through Steam, Nvidia Control Panel Tweaking

no improvement

To say the Crystal Dynamics engine is 'cruddy' or in anyway bad is a very weak accusation. In fact, HR's engine is quite the opposite. And while it's easy to just dismiss programmers or the engine itself people have to remember that even the best have their problems. Don't blow the issue up to something it's not. The micro-stuttering is a small, isolated problem in relation to the rest of the user base. I myself have the problem and so do my friends but most other people don't. Thus, it isn't enough of a problem to warrant absolute immediate response. The fact that only some people have this issue clearly establishes that it's more than an engine issue and countless other factors are involved. A dev cannot quickly patch a game with an issue like this otherwise they risk bringing more problems to those who have none to begin with.

Eidos is obviously working on it. Just give it some time; the game has been out for barely a week. I tweeted them about it and they said their "looking into issues" which is more than enough for me. Relax, it's getting fixed.

Man, I remember talking about this day one of launch fully expecting at least an acknowledgement of the issue. I am still getting terrible stutters, its embarrassing to look at when trying to run from on end of Detroit to the other. Plus the new AMD drivers make my steam overlay flicker. 11.8cap2 I am starting my second run through of this game, if this keeps up its going to fade fast from my recommendation list >.>

I still cannot play this game. I posted in here on the release day about this issue, and I have attempted every fix that has been posted. I cannot get this game to be playable.

What the hell is this about? Why am I not able to play this game that I waited for and looked forward to for so long?

Can we maybe get an estimate as to a fix date, or at least some form of acknowledgement saying "Hey guys, sorry, our bad! We're looking into it!".

This is seriously ridiculous.

Well, finally hit a point of no return. I'm at the last firefight in China and it locks on me randomly at some point within the first few kills. The stutter-lock bit happens often too. Appears to happen when you take corners too quickly and don't give the game time to load texture or something to that effect. It's a beautiful and addicting game but now it's unplayable due to a specific area crash. (Before this, it would crash and I would just reload the game. It was too awesome to put down.)

Let's get a patch out asap, Eidos. You have a lot of long-time Deus Ex customers waiting on you.

The guys who fix the game don't monitor this forum as much as you might think. If I were you id go through the official channels to get support

I don't have a huge stuttering problem, at least I don't think I do since I haven't gotten very far in the game. My problem is that the iron sights and aiming from cover animations are jerky as hell. And it's just the animations, my actual framerate doesn't drop at all, it's not the whole game stuttering. I've tried all kinds of things but absolutely nothing fixes it. Other than this, so far my game runs really well on max settings, but this does make the game unplayable to me because it's really jarring to not have a smooth transition when aiming.

Has anyone had the same problem and fixed it? I'm gonna try getting a refund from Steam.

So I switched to DX11 and as stated before it stutter less, but I have lower FPS. Like on Hengsha heliport 25FPS and CPU usage (C2D 3,2GHz) is 55-60% and GPU only 50%. So fix the game please...

AMD was involved in development of this game, so I am starting to think this low Intel CPU & Nvidia GPU usage is purposeful...

I've seen a lot of people on AMD hardware who are having this issue as well(including myself on my HD 4870).

Ive practically eliminated all my stuttering by doing 3 things:

*Core Parking trick

*Deleting my C: drive page file

*Removing the 2 Nvidia 3D entries in control panel

Now I have everything running up full including AA with only the slightest hiccup when I enter a new area.

Hope this helps you guys. Fantastic game btw... soundtrack is excellent too

Damn, lucky you. Ive tried all those and still stutter "sadface". I might have to build a new pc entirely to fix this if a patch doesnt come!

Makes we wonder why most of the cut-scenes are pre rendered movies, almost like they found out the engine couldn't handle the fast camera movements etc and was a juddering mess. very suspicious i think.

Default count me in

ok guys, count me in for the stuttering issue.

hw tech spec:
Intel i7 960 3.20 Mhz
Asus Rampage III Gene
6 GB 1600 mhz DDR3 triple channel
AMD HD6870
OCZ Agility3 60GB SSD HDD

sw tech spec:
windows7 home edition 64 bit updated (sp1)
mobo bios latest (0901)
mobo drivers latest
gpu driver latest (11.8)

Stuttering is presented all the time, especially when exploring city hubs like Detroit, Shanghai etc. Sometimes it stutters in interiors when turning around the corners, when looking around with mouse etc.
That stuttering isn't gamebreaking at all (i already finished that game once) but it is definitely annoying.
I have been looking for medicine all over the internet since the release (EU - Friday 26th) but nothing worked so far I could tell it is "home-made fixed".

I've tried to update all hw related drivers including bios - didn't help
I've tried to unpark idle processors via windows registry hack - didn't help
I've tried to fix it with another config registry oriented hack - didn't help
I've tried to do everything I was able to dig up from the internet - didn't help

I am so far from the state of anger and fury and I will not threaten developers with silly threats like "I will not buy anything else from you never ever bla bla", "I will kill your favourite pet fish bla bla" etc. etc. as I can see across the internet these days. This game is simply great with all its aspects, this is real DeusEx game and I am thankful to guys from Eidos/Nixxes they had balls to take a legend and bring us new DE experience. They can be proud of themselves, a good job done. It just has some bugs as every new software has.

But I must admit I am a bit disappoited with lack of communication from Eidos/Nixxes. Is it really so hard to stand in front of us and say "yeah, it is a bug, we are gonna look into it, wait for patch please"? Even "go * yself we already have you money" is better stance than be silent and pretending they aren't even exist.

I tried that, I've messed with all kinds of settings. It's crazy how it still happens even with the graphic settings at the absolute lowest I can set them. I can't even play the game with DX11 turned off, for some reason it says my computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements!
