Exclamation E3 2011

... is almost upon us, my brethrens.

Who's looking forward to and and to what exactly?

Personally, I can't wait to see what other Bioshock Infinite stuff we'll get to see/hear.
----

I'd like to hear some good news about The Last Guardian as well. Like, y'know, a release date...
----

I have never played any Tomb Raider game (except for the first one on Sega Saturn) simply because they never appealed to me. But that Tomb Raider Reboot looks like something spooky... I like.

Bioshock Infinite, The Darkness 2 and The Last Guardian are definitely up there,

Hitman Absolution, Dead Island, Agent, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception maybe, Resistance 3, Prototype 2 are others I'd like to see.

Should it be? Killzone 3 is excellent entertainment. That's what those dumb games are all about. Dumb, yet excellent entertainment.

That's below the belt, take it back.

Random, nonsensical note: I wrote all this while singing to 'The trick is to keep breathing' by Garbage from their Version 2.0 album. Man, I miss my adolescent years sometimes.

Because it takes itself too seriously. Killzone (3) is like a bad b-movie. Though I'm not sure if the dev's are aware of this or whether if it's their intention.

I'd say the same thing applies to the Gears of War series. I've always seen those games as the modern day equivilent of an 80's action movie like Predator or Commando.

For the record , Killzone had always taken itself very , Very seriously ...

Call of Duty is a long serie of anti-war message (believe it or not , it is very cynical towards senseless warfares) that is spread along a rollercoaster ride that utilises the imagination to deliver a somewhat plausible , yet nonetheless 'fantastical' experience ...

If it took itself Too seriously , it can be so pretentious that it'll make Kojima blush ...
If it didn't take itself seriously at all , then ... ... ... well , it'll be a very bland shooter , which it isn't ...

(actually the ones i keep praising about are the last three : World at War , Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops ...
The first Modern Warfare can go and get molested by Uncharted , and that's a sad image right there) ...

Exactly. They're so over the top that it's funny. Note that I bought the very first game because I thought it was a horror title, which - and please have a sack of salt with this - it kinda is.

Huh, GTA V might be set in L.A. with all the landmarks named correctly.

I actually hope they don't do this. We've already had Los Santos and L.A. Noire to have fun in the City of The Angels.

My vote would be Sao Paulo or Rio.

$oft's conference is all about Kinect. A new low in entertainment.

So they announced Far Cry 3 and I got all excited.

Then I found out it was about some guy named Jason Brody trying to save his girlfriend from rebels.

Then I heard there was a new Brothers in Arms game and I got all excited.

Then I heard it was basically a game version of Inglorious Basterds.

I'm not liking how this E3 is starting out.

I watched the Far Cry 3 demo.

I'll need more info, and I saw no mention of Jason Brody's quest for his girlfriend.

What I did see was a ridiculous villain that's nothing more than a Jackal wannabe and parttime ally of Lord Humongous.

There was no hint as to how open the game will be, so I'll just have to wait. Until then, I'm cautious of this. Not cautiously optimistic, just cautious.

Here's the video for anyone interested.

O great... Ken Levine slept with the enemy and will incorporate Move into Bioshock: Infinite. Of all people, I did not expect him to utter those words. Shame on him, really.

And o look, it's a NGP Bioshock title in the works.

Don't you know Jack? Motion controls are the next big thing as well as 3D. If a game doesn't have either, it won't sell according to focus group reports.

At least Kinect is awful enough that the 360 version will likely be free of dumb stuff like that.

Your glasses are half full, are they not? Regardless, thank you for that uplifting note. I didn't see it that way (strange because I will most certainly get the 360 version).

Oh my god! There's a nickel-plated AK in Far Cry 3.
Other than that though, I'm dissapointed. I heard it was going to be during the Yugoslav wars.

Sony's tie-in to EVE online, a shooter called 'Dust', looked pretty interesting.
