Unhappy Can't Play TR4

because Lara isn't following my commands. There's a serious issue with the directional keys, if I hit the right arrow, Lara will run...and keep running until she hits a wall or falls into a pool or pit. Same goes for the other buttons. If I hit jump, she'll keep on jumping in place to where I'll have to shut down the game through the desktop.

I believed I tried everything: installed the necessary TR updates, reinstalled the game, changed the compatibility to run in Win 98/Me mode (I'm running on Win 7) I even purchased another copy of the game thinking maybe it was a bad disk, but doing the same thing. Nothing works. Please help

If there are no other suggestions I'll have to just skip TR4 and continue on with Chronicles, which plays fine, so does AOD, but I was looking forward to playing TR4 for story purposes.

I think I might have solved the problem.

I went to Stella's site and downloaded the saved game files for the first 2 levels, but before putting the necessary file in the TR4 folder, I changed the compatibility from Win98/Me to WinXP SP2 and viola! It works perfectly. I got to the Valley of the Kings level where I grew tired, but all and all my game works fine now.

I only used Win98/Me compatibility because I used that to run TR3 so figuring it worked the same...but it didn't. I hope this can help someone else who may have similar issues.
