Also, anyone else notice that the suit voice was practically identical to Daedelus' voice from DX1? I was half expecting to be thrown in a cell with the suit screaming down my ears "I NEED YOU TO ESCAPE"

I liked Crysis 2, and I have completed the first one.
The graphics are not too big of a deal to me, seeing as I had graphics on Low/Medium in the first one. AND THE SECOND ONE I PLAYED ON THE XBOX 360! |

Crysis 2 has been one of the worst releases i can care to remember. A total disregard for PC players. The game is borderline laughable!
I'd been playing for a good 5 hours. All my nano catalyst disapears. All my Upgrades get bumped down to the initial upgrades (even to ones that i didn't choose to upgrade in the first place). A multiplayer mess, that doesnt update your statistics. (That was when i could play multiplayer...) And now? I can't even log in. It's so good paying moolah to beta test. ¬_¬ What a joke.

You need to download a user-made mod just to access advanced graphics settings for Crysis 2.
The game is the definition of dumbed down for consoles. It PLAYS better on consoles, which is just embarrassing.

I still don't get why many people think that the singleplayer is a CoD clone. Many argue that the suit was simplified or is less powerful. That's partly true and not true for the latter, since A) you've got basically all your old powers (speed was powered down but is still there) and then some (grabbing ledges, kicking objects, stealth kills, armor mode improved). The game's also a lot more vertical and as such offers freedom to some degree, yeah I'd wished for more as well, but it's more in the "meh/disappointed" area then in the "completely corridor shooter and CoD clone" area. Enemies are smart and provide a challenge - unless you take the overpowered HMG with you or the AI breaks itself. Weapons are varied enough, some things improved (Gauss atachement, shotgun atachement) as well as at least two cool new weapons: K-Volt and the Klystron emitter - One being an electric anti-alien gun, the other a microwave anti-alien flamethrower. Then there's the graphics: Console gamers pretty much only praise the game for the great detail etc. etc. Playing on the PC, most things look on par with Crysis. That alone is a bit disappointing as I was wishing for an actual improvement overall. This however would be at least good if it weren't for a few flaws that ruin everything: Every now and then you'll see low res textures amidst the good ones which just boggle ones mind as to how they could've left that in. Bloom and Lens flare are horribly overdone. Glass breaks unrealistically. Also, in contrast to Crysis' icy levels and alien areas which looked pretty good and futuristic respectively, the most alien design you've got here is technological spikes erupting from the ground. The aliens themselves look and move pretty good and alien, but I wished for something fascinating, kind of looking like the alien level in the Original with gravity and overall improvements. Coming back to the gameplay aspect again, it still boggles my mind that you can activate only one upgrade in every category. Now for stealth players and players who prefer to move around a lot this works quite nice. They can pick a upgrade that makes energy recharge faster from the "armor" category of upgrades, ergo cloak more and sprint/powerjump/slide more etc. However, for those who want to be walking tanks there is no such option. Why would I want to be silent or cloak faster? Doesn't have any use for me. I'd rather activate all three armor modules at once and not a single power or stealth module. Last there is the multiplayer. Damn. Theres a lot wrong with it. Still I can see what it could be, and to my surprise, I had a lot of fun with it yet. If you actually get some things right, then the whole thing can be quite satisfying. Like activating maximum nano armor after seven kills, or getting the gunship, or my favorite: Getting a stealth kill on an unsuspecting enemy. The last is actually IMHO the best thing so far. You can't just pull it off while the enemy is running, they have to be walking and the middle of their back turned towards you. No unfair animation, no 180° degree radius etc. However, the multiplayer could be drastically improved by: - Getting rid of hackers and cheaters (Permaban and proper protective programs) - Upping the standard health by 100% / Making armor mode more useful - Nerfing headshots - Balancing weapons - Upping speed and manuverability during power jumps, making the slide faster - Optionally raising sprint speed to 1.5 times its current amount Now to me, that doesn't sound hard. Heck, most of it involve changing a few numbers. The question is wether they'd do it or not. I'd hate it if they wouldn't - with these changes it'd truly be something special and practically no CoD clone in terms of actual gameplay. |

Whatever your arguments for or against Crysis 2 may be, there is one thing that this game absolutely nails better than any shooter I've EVER played - and that's a big statement as I've been playing shooters since Wolfenstein 3D - the feel.
Crysis 2 feels the least disconnected from an actual physical human being moving in a physical space than any other shooter I've played. You feel heavy, the guns feel responsive (partly due to great sound design), the perspective is always a satisfying first person. Walking, running, jumping, ledgegrabbing, hitting, shooting, even stabbing guys in the neck from behind, it's all been absolutely nailed here. If for nothing else, this makes Crysis 2 great for me. The action was so much fun because it felt so right. Unfortunately it doesn't nail anything else really. The story suffers from Modern Warfare 2 syndrome (let's make excuses to go to a lot of different places, with a horribly scattered, uninteresting, nonsensical plot full of holes) and when you look back upon the entire game and boil it down to its basics, Crysis 2 is essentially just "setpiece-with-a-ledge-overtop-of-it-to-observe-before-tackling" over and over again, with the aforementioned pathetic story segments in between. Multiplayer has been a LOT of fun so far, but very glitchy - had my guns not work, melee stop working, my ironsights even disappeared once, unlocks and progression disappearing, etc. Hopefully these things will all be fixed! |

![]() Well, here's a general idea of what to expect - the slummy area is more or less finished, conceptually. Now what remains is to finish building everything...and all of that other stuff. I'd like to begin moving on towards the Hall of Congress which will divide the lower-class end of the capital from the upper-class dowtown area. Whether I actually re-create Downtown from NCR in Fallout 2 is an open question. I think for now if I can finish this Southern portion I would be happy. |

Your custom meshes fit the theme perfectly. They look like they came from Bethesda! Oh, and *hands you a Purified Water bottle* Apparently you need it

I would like it to be an open world game, so Bioware no. Obsidian, I was let down by FONV. Bethesda was all I thought of.

But Bethesda just sucks at everything EXCEPT making an open-world. All their systems, storylines, dialog, everything else is just bad.
