Also, if you want to kill tons of zombies, go to the graveyard later on and enter the shack there. Plenty of zombies to kill, another neat little side quest. That one is insane though. I do agree with you on most of your points though. Once you finish the game, look the cheats up and try that on for size. You'll never be sad again at your accuracy that's for sure.

2. It's not your main weapon, though it can be really handy. 3. Can't fault you there. The game is a bit... empty, at times. 4. Very weird design decision, yes. 5. There is a lot of action later. 6. Welcome to the world of yesteryear. I love that aspect, myself. Ocean House is the second most creepy single-map experience(*) I've had in a computer game to date. The first (and most creepy) being the "Shalebridge Cradle" in Thief: Deadly Shadows (read this, if you haven't played it (*2)). *) As in: in a game not primarily focused on horror. *2) It contains the best description of good horror I've ever heard: "You need only shout, 'boo!' at the optimal moment, and your victims will find themselves clinging to the ceiling, quivering and hissing expletives. Our reptile brains instantly respond, ready to brandish the adrenals at the drop of a hat. But will the memories last? Typically, no. They are warning signs, written in a very basic language. As the mind rights itself, these messages fade away, leaving it largely unblemished. I want my scares to leave scars."

![]() Edit: Oh, and the consensus is that Thief 1&2 are far and away superior to DS. I tend to agree, though I definitely enjoyed DS.

The thing is; no other game has made a stealth experience as fulfilling as Thief 1&2, in my opinion... and the opinion of many, many others. But yes; it is mainly a sneaking game. In 1&2 you can actually hold your own in open combat, as opposed to DS - tough it basically means you're a crappy thief.

The new Quakecon trailer for Rage, along with the Enemies dev-diary, has my excitement levels raised once again. I'm not wildly thrilled, but more so than I have been in a year now. Once again I'm beginning to think it might be more than just a boring shooter... it might actually be awesome.

You should try them, though. I mean, there is a reason why they are considered modern classics; they're bloody great games.

ha ha. i wonder if there is name for people who are attracted to animated characters. gits:sac is good but i refuse to watch because of those damn little robots with the squeaky voices. also the episode with THE SMILING MAN (i think that was his name) put me off a bit.

Speaking of QuakeCon, why isn't anybody talking about the most important gameplay to have come out of it?
Sure does look like Tribes to me. Makes me wish it weren't free-to-play.
