not really surprising.
she has experience now how to play lara. she knows what to look for and how to act accordingly. wile the others have to learn first to get these emotions, etc.
im not saying they cant do it but it does take some time then wile camilla will get it pretty much spot on.

So, it looks as if the movie will not be out in 2013. It is nearly already here and there is not even a cast or anything. Any more conformation on this?

My guess is they are going to wait until after the game. To see how it is received and whether they think the franchise is still a profitable venture outside it's main media market of gaming, seeing as the movie is to be based along the same line of the game, as a origin story.

However, no-one needs to admit to their vote. Anonymity is what gives people the feeling of freedom to cast an honest vote.

She might not be a good enough actress for the big screen, imo, but at least she looks English. I'd rather Camilla if it came down to a fisty cuffs. Funny how Nina Dobrev wants to be the next Lara and she's on our list though. We should change the poll title to "Who Do You Think Would Win in a Fight for the Role of Lara in the Next Tomb Raider"

I'd agree, except that I'm pretty sure Summer would take it without breaking sweat! We'd have to add Eliza Dushku to the list to give her a challenge!

Well Lawrence and Luddington are both trained in archery, Alison Carrol had to do army training to be the model for Lara Croft (I think) and I reckon Kate Beckingsdale could take Glau on in hand-to-hand. I reckon it could be close...

Summer has trained in several martial arts & not just for film, either. She's genuinely kick-ass! May have mentioned I'm a fan - just don't see her as Lara

I love Summer. Superb actress, very attractive. No way she could ever pass for English, though, and looks nothing at all like Lara.

I fully admit to voting for Camilla. I think she would do a wonderful job as Lara, and since she already has all the experience playing her in the game, why change it for a movie? Originally i wanted Olivia Wilde, but unless she is lying, she made it clear that she wasn't the one. Summer would also make a good character, but NOT Lara...mostly because i have her firmly established in my memory as River Tam from Firefly, and i am not likely to be able to get past that viewpoint. Heck, i can't even watch Castle without thinking of Nathan Fillion as Captain Reynolds

I think, from all of those actresses listed there, Camilla Luddington is the best choice. She would make a great Lara,in my opinion, like the one from the last three games,that's the Lara i like,not the one from the movies. So I choose her.

Camilla may have a slight advantage what with being Lara's VA, but ultimately, it's up to the directors/casting directors and they may want someone else due to experience/exposure etc.
