As d1n0 said, eye colour shouldn't be a problem since the actress can always use contacts.

I have to say Tamzin Merchant wouldn't be one of my choices, though. While I do like her voice and wouldn't mind if she was the new voice actress, I don't think I would like her for the movie! Emilia Clarke on the other hand would be an amazing choice!!!

@kadosho - Definitely NOT! Daniella Ruah does a great job in NCIS:LA but she does not look like Lara at all!

i just started watching GOT, seen the first two episodes, so far it looks very promising

I've read the books and the Series so far is very accurate though there have been some changes in character for instance some characters like Renly get more screen time and his love affair with Loras was only suspicion in the books and Margaery and Shae are a lot different but other than that the TV series is great

Not to continually spam the forum (my apologies) but I had another thought about the delay, now that the game has been pushed back, will the 3rd film as well? I remember hearing it was slated for a 2013 release as well. I think this could be a great opportunity to cross-promote so to speak just like when the angel of darkness came out before the 2nd film? I wish we could get an update on the status of the movie reboot as well. Lol

While we're all debating who would be the ideal new (21 yr old) Lara for the rebooted movies, I just had an idea. Often with reimaginings, actors of previous iterations make brief cameos, a way of paying tribute to them having once had a role in the franchise.

Just think of the Eric Bana Hulk movie (terrible one at that, but not the point) where they had Lou Ferrigno as a security guard. Or in Edward Norton's movie where Bill Bixby is on the TV in the background.

So what would you all think of Angelina Jolie portraying Amelia Croft in the upcoming movie? To me there can be no more fitting a cameo than for the previous Lara to play the mother of the new Lara. Kind of a symbolic way of passing the torch

^ That's a nice idea! Stan Lee always makes an appearance in Marvel movies (Iron man, Hulk, Avengers). I loved AJ as Lara, that would be awesome, love it!

i cannot believe what i'm reading ....no one likes the TR movies ???
everyone says that Angelina Jolie IS Lara Croft so something must have been alright.

I loved it from the moment i turned it on , the first one a bit better then the second one.
it's just scary to read all these comments , but maby i'm wrong .

well, the movies arent really great but still ok to watch.
if uwe boll would have made the movies, then it would suck like hell. uwo boll is in my view the worst director ever. he really gets everything wrong when he makes a movie of a game.

I don't say that Jolie IS Lara. She doesn't even look English, to me! Kane's first rule of film: if the casting is bad, so will the film be. Never let me down yet!

As for Emma Watson - no idea if she' s a good actress or not, but for me she just looks nothing whatsoever like Lara.

^I've been off the Summer Glau team for quite some time now (because I think the actress as to be around the same age as new Lara)! What made me support her as a choice in the beginning was her terrific skills as an actress - she's not only a very talented actress but she's also capable of portraying the more physical aspects that the role requires.

And for me, Emma Watson not only doesn't look like Lara at all (in comparison I would dare say I see more similarities in Summer than I do in Emma), I also don't believe she's a great actress (for the little I've seen of her).

If it was down to these two actresses, I would prefer Summer without a doubt because I know she is an amazing actress and would do the role justice.

Or that! But I haven't given up hope that a live action adaptation could be awesome with the right team behind it, so I actually prefer we get a live action film and not an animated one!

Don't get me wrong, I definitely do not want Emma Watson to be the next Lara. I think she's a bad actress but I still think she would still make a better Lara than some of the girls like Summer Glau and Olivia Wilde just out of the fact that they look NOTHING like Lara. There are girls on there that look more like Lara and are frankly much better actresses than Emma Watson but anyone who thinks that Summer Glau looks more like Lara than Emma Watson is either at least partially blind or in denial...

Well, Emma looks English, which immediately puts her head and shoulders above both Olivia and Summer. I adore Summer, as I've said before, but she ain't Lara.

None of the actresses listed so far are perfect, granted. 'Perfect' probably isn't even possible, as Lara doubtless looks a bit different to each of us. But I'd at least like someone who could pass for English if she stands still with her mouth shut!
