Default AA Doesn't Launch After Startup Menu

Steam, not GOTY Edition

It ran before, but a recent hard drive failure cost me mostly everything except my crucial files, and Steam games weren't a huge worry for me anyways.

No error messages, just doesn't launch.
I've looked through here, hoping to find solutions, most I've found don't seem to help.
I've verified, defrag, deleted the .exe from the game folder and re-downloaded, and completely deleted the game and re-downloaded, so I don't think it's Steam

On the non-steam end, I've upgraded GFWL, downgraded, made sure my game is patched, have physx off, (non physx card) fairly, if not completely sure my drivers driectx and .net are all up to date.

DXDiag: http://www.text-upload.com/read.php?id=49809&c=5552716

I was considering just buying the GOTY yesterday for $7.50, but was worried I'd hit the same problems.

Sorry if you've seen a lot of these thread and my solution is in one of them, but I can't pretend to not have missed some of them, I tried to look through before posting.

Try updating your graphics card drivers, they are dated for May 2010. Also, make sure to only install the latest drivers and not update the PhysX installation. The PhysX installer that comes with the game should work fine. You can find this in the installation folder, typically: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\batman arkham asylum\redist\PhysX_9.08.14_9.09.0814_SystemSoftware.exe

Okay, the driver is dated January 2011 now, but that doesn't match the Feb 2011 on the AMD site I got it from.

Still nothing though.

http://rapidshare.com/files/448527877/dxdiag-msinfo.zip

Both files are in the zip.

Dunno if this is relevant, but I had the same issue with Bioshock 2 not launching, and running the gfwl installer that came with it through Steam fixed the issue, but didn't for AA.

Try navigating to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\batman arkham asylum\Binaries , Right-Click on BmStartApp.exe and choose Launch analysis. Please let us know if this works ok or not. If you get any error messages, please make a note of it.

Launch analysis isn't an option, Troubleshoot compatibility is the only thing there that's similar, and it didn't solve anything.

Have you modified the installation at all? Something is blocking the SecuROM activation on your system if this option does not appear. You may be best to contact SecuROM support to try and get it rectified. You can email them at : support@securom.com

After some time dealing with SecuROM, they've insisted there is nothing wrong with SecuROM and referred me back to here.

I don't like the looks of this...
