People always seem so utterly pessimistic with anything that tries things different, whys!

Here, DC Nation and Beware the Batman preview:

The Smith interview makes it clear that Batman and Katana are both going pretty much "Year One" with their stories, one could assume they'll go as far as having a Nolan inspiration with something like the League of Shadows being the ones who trained both, or one of them. Time will tell.

Finally seeing Ides of March tomorrow, better late then never!

Also Resident Evil 5 looks Three Musketeers level of stupid, this is going to be hilariously fun:

Three Musketeers was awesomeness. Me and my friends we're laughing the whole time, i really wish it hadn't tanked so we could have gotten the sequel. It was easily the best "worst" movie of 2011 when it comes to enjoyment value.

I agree... it defiantly needs a sequel

Looks like it will:

No matter how much i disliked the 3rd and 4th movie, this reeks of Three Musketeers level of stupidness. I AM SO IN!

Ides of March review
Quote:
George Clooney’s 5th directed film that he is also credited as a co-writer, a 2011 film that focuses on two democratic parties competing each other for the presidency, this political thriller film was not what I excepted from the trailers and was pleasantly surprised by the direction the film takes.

Starring Ryan Gosling as Stephen Meyers the Junior Campaign Manager of President Mike Morris (played by Clooney) takes the lead of the movie, it’s really wonderful that Clooney put himself on such a simple minded president candidate character and as a director allows Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Paul Giamatti to truly shine in this movie, very pleased with that choice Clooney put out.

Hoffman plays Paul Zara the campaign manager of Mike Morris and the tutor and mentor of Stephen Meyers, with their main competitor being Giamatti’s Tom Duffy, the campaign manager of the rival Democratic Party. These 3 actors take the lead as the political drama gets nastier and nastier. It’s wonderful how the movie is named “Ides of March” which comes from Julius Caesar’s assignation as his closest allies and the Roman senate betrayed the man, it has a very thematic value to this movie.

I don’t wish to say a lot more, because it’s a rather simple story, I thought this was going to be campaign vs. campaign movie, but it really turns into a inner battle between the Mike Morris campaign group itself, as secrets are revealed, trusts are broken and the stakes get higher and higher, this movie gets into incredibly nasty territory and I absolutely loved how serious this movie was. It’s incredibly clever and well casted, but there is one downside to this movie.

I felt Clooney dragged this movie way too much, sure you can see that “actor” vibe from him as he utterly wants Gosling to shine, but at the end of the day you just really end up dragging scenes that just shouldn’t last that long.
Overall, it’s a serious movie and fits perfectly for our generation on what we people want, heck you even get a bit 99% vs. 1% from Mike Morris, but not a huge emphasis on the Wall Street, but things like Mike Morris’ campaign posters are very Obama inspired and that I liked. I’ll recommend this to everyone, but remember it can be a bit dragged out, but it’s still a good clever movie.

PS. There is a funeral scene of a woman and the man giving the speech says “everything she touched, she made better” so me and my friend obviously crack up on that, what on earth was Clooney thinking? He must have known the rather nasty humor of that quote, especially when you take in context what kind of an character dies during this movie hehehe.

Just watched The Artist. Definitely deserved that Golden Globe. Really unique and well done.

It's awful on its own, and only looks marginally better when put on the covers. It looks more like a flavored water type logo, not a comic book company.

Were it to be true, it sure would be a natural fit for their engine and free-flow. Everything Batman did and even the grungy city is suited to this (as the article points out also with the gadgets/accessories the Turtles would have and their weaponed fighting moves). We'll see.

The only problem would if its too much lik Arkham Asylum?City and people would complain that they could have made another Batman game instead

It's possible. Even if they did distinguish it a great deal, I am sure there would still be people comparing it. That Captain America game was automatically compared a lot to AA, and even though it had a little bit in common in the fighting area, reviewers noted he had moves that felt like Captain A, not Batman, etc. The game got lower scores for other repetitive and unimaginative reasons, but before it was ever even really seen outside of trailers, that's I saw people saying was that it was just an AA clone, lol. Quite frankly, if RS didn't change one thing about anything in AC and just slapped the Turtles into it, it would still have a general "that's fine, because it's still pretty sweet" appeal, due to the similarities of the comics and characters already: grungy cities and basically roof-top-hopping ninjas taking on waves and waves of baddies in hand-to-hand martial arts (and over-the-top musclebound bosses to face -- Beebop and Rocksteady (ha! Just realized the name ) are sure dead-ringers for Titan-sized characters; Shredder is like Ras', only with more sharpness ). I would hope, were they to take on another of my favorite fandoms, that they would put more effort than that into it.

And one other good thing about this is it would mean RS would no longer be published by Warner Bros. Entertainment. Still not clear as to who screwed some of things up on AC's release, but after all of that, I'd sure be more inclined to check out another product by them under better PR. Otherwise, if they'd still be under WB, I'd probably abstain. Anyway, we won't know until we know, so

Oh it was Definitely WB who screwed up the release, Eidos handled everything a lot better, from the PR to Viral marketing to the dang forums
