"Apparently things are different now. JJB makes it sound like Adam can install any type of aug at any time just by spending 2 praxis points." We were given more information, not altered information. Unless there's no way around it, new information should build upon the old, not tear it down. And these Praxis points fit quite comfortably into what we already knew.

Oh, amidst the criticism I almost forgot about the praise:
Very good choice of a question this time, this is the sort of stuff we actually want to hear about |

He did mean that we buy/find augs and need praxis points to be able to install them at a "limb clinic", right? Not that we'll be able to ram them on ourselves as we find them. I sure hope so. I really want to have to go to a shady doctor to get augs installed. It's one of the things I've actually looked forward to with this game.
Oh, and kudos on choosing a good question.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Glad you liked the question choice. But please don't get mad at us if you don't like the choice for EVERY video. As I've said before, we're trying to answer many different questions for many different people who have varying interests.

I think Pinky is right, we (including me) shouldn't speculate too much. The only thing we should get from that answer is the way praxis points are distributed. We now know that we will have the interesting choice to either upgrade one or multiple augs you already have with 1 praxis point per upgrade or to get an enitre different aug for 2 praxis points. I hope I understand this right.
What would you guys do if you had 2 praxis points? Get an entire new augmentation or upgrade what you already have? It depends, I guess : ) |

The idea is great, though! Getting some straightforward answers warms my little black heart.

JJB and Adam Jensen have relatively the same facial hair...coincidence?

They already told us Adam's look was partly based on JJB

Nice vid; informative. Thanks!
Yeah, I think the point is that the content did not really live up to the plot "frame". With all that happened during the game, the simple escape from the prison was like...disappointing. I don't know, something was lacking at the end, had no substance. Yet again, the game was really nicely made

For anyone who cares: I messaged JJB on Twitter to thank him for answering my question, and to ask him if we still need cash / limb clinics to install new augs. He sent me a direct message saying that he's trying to get permission from the powers that be to answer that, so hopefully (fingers crossed) we should get this cleared up pretty quickly. Quote:
While we're talking about it though, how many new augs can there be? We get arms and eyes as default: all that I can think of that's left are legs, brain and potentially some kind of chest thing, which doesn't make for a lot of new branches. |

If you can install all augs in one game (even when they occupy the same body slot) you could make each aug add a new texture to the existing model. A chest plate with both Cloak and Ballistic Protection installed would look different than just Cloak or just Ballistic Protection.

I believe that's 21 aug functions, rather than 21 aug slots: i.e. super speed and quiet running, though both using the leg augmentation slot, would count for 2. Assuming that, as in the original, you can only have one aug per slot (and that is pure assumption at the moment, of course) then we've still got very limited expansion capability, considering 2 aug slots are installed as default.

The weird thing is that this concerns stuff they've already talked about in public. It's not on par with asking them to reveal a new aug or something. It's just confirming whether something that was already in the game is still in the game.

The fact that he has to ask if it's okay to divulge that, is enough for me to prick up my ears.
