Error comes while starting the game.

Hi

I have installed the game successfully. My pc specs are higher than the recommended settings. I'm getting this error when i start the game.

The type initializer for Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.Manager threw an exception

Yeah I just started getting this error also but if I click continue the game runs fine don't know why this error all of a sudden started.

I noticed I started getting this error message after I installed an older game BF 2142 (this was after I had already installed arkham asylum) It tried to install something for directx for the game but since it was older and I had newer Directx installs it failed to install it. Since I had another HDD for a backup I installed the game on that one and did not have the error, so I am pretty sure it had something to do with BF 2142 attempted to install something for directx. I am going to reinstall the game and see if it will redo the the 1st time run of the game where it installs directx for it and see if the error stops then. Will post again when I get done.

Ok that didn't fix it but I found another way, I got mine through steam so your folder might be in a different spot than mine, anyway go to batman arkham asylum folder in there should be a folder named redist then into the Directx folder and find the file DXSETUP.exe and run as administrator that fixed it for me hope this helps.
