Downloaded GOTY from Stream. First the game had .net errors in launcher and couldn't see keyboard/mouse controls. Each time I hit restore defaults, got .net error. I loaded the demo and it worked fine. I copied ini files and saw launcher.ini file was pointing to a different path in config line
In Demo UserConfigPath=\Eidos\Batman Arkham Asylum Demo\BmGame\Config\ In GOTY UserConfigPath=\Square Enix\Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY\BmGame\Config\ I changed the path and got past the .net errors and was able to see the WASD control options. However, in game , in view controls I can only see xbox 360. I was able to get around this by deleting all the xbox 360 settings from the ini fines, under bmgame/engine config directories. I was then able to at least use WASD but other inputs, except viewing with the mouse, are not "assigned" within game. The game still sees xbox360 as the only control option. Also, the quick save option works, F5, but no other option. I'ved sent ticket to Streams, who send go to Eidos, who now said got to Square Enix for support. Also, I saw that the demo does not have a defaultuserinput.ini or an userinput.ini file. I tried removing these files and the game won't launch. Anybody have a solution? : |

Run the launcher to set up PC controls - you can't assign keys ingame.

Sry I wasn't clear. The game does not recognize any keyboard controls, except for the menu commands. It does recognize the mouse view but that is it. I've messed with the ini files and somehow got it to accept movement controls, wasd, but nothing else. The demo is fine but the GOTY is messed up.

My bad for not reading properly. Does this thread help?
http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=99755 If not, maybe it would be worth uninstalling and reinstalling - IIRC, the default controls should be active even if the Launcher is never run. Possibly the .Net crash did something irreparable to your ini files? |

I'm having similar issues and I got the same GOTY version off Steam. Not having the .net issues, just controller issues. I'm running XP and the game loads up fine. Once I exit the cut scene Batman spins like a top. I have a G500 Logitech mouse. Also, I cannot reset mouse controls, it seems hard wired to the xbox 360 controller, although it seems to show pc controls, but they don't work. I also attached a controller and it didn't work. I'm about ready to barf on the keyboard Batman spins so hard. Any help would be really appreciated.

Ok after figuring out where the search feature was located after registering I was able to find a topic "batman spinning." It was suggested that it was caused by a joystick being attached. Sure enough, that was the issue. The game is now working
albeit I cannot figure out how to rearrange controls![]() Says you can do it in the "launcher" but I've tried everywhich way to get an input to recognize before the game starts and there isn't any way to get a prompt to switch it. Any suggestions? |

I guess I'm just talking to my self (he he) but I figured out the "launcher" thing vs. ingame thing. Thanks for the forum and all the help. Just needed to register to get the search thing going (how come you can't search without registering? Odd).
