Hey folks-
I have an Asus G73JH notebook and a problem with TR:L. Specs: Windows 7 HP 64 Bit ATi Mobility Radeon HD 5870 Core i7 720QM 6 GB RAM 500 GB 7,200 RPM Seagate HD When I try to install, everything goes fine until about 90% or so, where it just stops. When I hit cancel, the program stops responding. I've tried: Q: I am having problems installing the game / The install does not finish A: Try one of the following: -Open the task manager and end the process called SET58.tmp -Open the task manager and reduce the priority of the install process *.tmp Or cancel the automatically appearing install screen and start the setup.exe manually Left-clicking the start menu Clicking "Computer" Right-clicking the DVD drive containg the disc and selecting "explore" Double-clicking the "setup" file manually (This was for Anniversary though, and the SET58.tmp process doesn't show up on my machine, nor does *.tmp.) I will try copying the files EXCEPT the Directx folder as stated in the help thread http://forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php?t=68402 Does anyone know how I can get the bloody game to install? I know the disk works because I was able to use it on my Acer Aspire 6920. |

I've found the issue- it stops at the file "death.bik"
The drive stops spinning as fast when the freeze happens. It drops to a few RPM's, and every few seconds the drive spins back up to 100% then repeats infinity. Any idea why that file is being a butt? EDIT: Just did the "copy everything except directx" and though it paused for a few minutes at death.bik, it appears to have finished. I'll let you know what happens. EDIT 2: Install complete! Going to make sure the game works. I'll post if I have an issue. Last edited by Kaelang; 08-02-2010 at 08:11 PM. |
