Talking My city is Black and Golden... DX3:HR

UPDATES_ I decided to add a couple of more DeusSexy pics... I think they more resonate with the games atmosphere...

I was just walking in my city late last night. (Tbilisi - Georgia/ Europe)

and it struck me... dang... the city is so totally Golden and Black. Now I'm NOT suggesting anything here... it's just with all this talk about Black & Gold... I remembered Dx3:HR.

That's why:

(click to see the bigger images)

"NEW pics"

"OLD"

This is an ancient city, but it has many modern touches... the filthy rich and poor(mostly the refugees after war with Russia) live side by side and hight tech modern buildings rise next to the ancient Christian churches Mosques and synagogues...

The geography is amazing, especially at night it looks like a new year tree and is undoubtedly one of the most amazing and beautiful cities at night.

Naturally, I think DX3:HR is now nearly finished, at least the story and most of the levels... BUT I could just hope that Tbilisi would be in Dx4.

P.S.
Tbilisi was also featuring in the original Splinter Cell game... and 1st Ghost Reckon (to some extent...)

Tbilisi is AMAZING at night... but during the day it has many problems. In general this mix is why I think it is perfect for cyberpunk story. It is old (around 1700+ years old) but also modern and the problems and the stuff thats awesome about it make is very interesting and original place. As for your city, I think you should be exaggerating, if it's a nice country, but not the most beautiful city. - Move to other city!

Tbilisi looks amazing in those photos. I have friend from Georgia, who showed me some photos, but they were mostly taken during the day. It's very pretty during the day, as well, but those night time photos are beautiful.

Very nice pics - guessing you are into photography then - do you mind me asking what camera you took these on?

3rd picture up from the bottom reminds me a lot of many sunny holidays I have had in Europe *sigh* I love going on holiday.

- I'm glad you like it. But again, it is AMAZING city, with EXTRAORDINARY problems... (Kremlin's tanks stand in 45km from the city center) but Tbilisi tries to look even prettier despite that. There is a lot of poverty and also a lot of richness, in general it is very diverse and you can see that pretty often. A lot of beggars, but the infrastructure, culture and spirit is unmatched at last in it's region.

- Thanks. Not all of those pics are made by me, but most are. I use Ricoh CX2 and my friends usually use some Nikon's for something more serious. Sometimes I use simple Kodak, just for quick image taking... for fun.

Also, Georgia has riot cops who look like Civil Protection from HL2.

That's basically what my friend told me. She's here as a graduate student.

here our police propaganda video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNwoU...eature=related

Naturally it's patriotic propaganda, BUT they really DO work well and the population trust for police in Georgia is above 85%, which is really a remarkable achievement... because just 6 years ago... before the reforms police was widely hated. One day all our old police lost their jobs and now we have a completely new police force that even I personally admire.

All cities are mostly yellow and black at night. Streetlighting being, y'know, yellow and all that. One of the good things about HR, imo. It's about time night time in an urban environment actually looked like night time in an urban environment.

(Oh, and Tblisi is lovely at night)

My own city at night, again, black and gold.

Your city looks great and I have to agree. But, why I point out Tbilisi is because of it's geography and ancient/modern looks... it is surrounded by the mountains... even more, IT IS somehow inside the mountains... and it all looks shiny and awesome at night... while majority of modern cities are mostly located on the flat plateau places... not to mention... this region is full of conspiracies...

Sure beats Baltimore.

The city does have that one gold leaf-plated tower for the record. Which would fit the HR color scheme if someone were to glance at it @ night.

But I did not mean "conspiracies" as that... I mean there are often stories about nuclear material smuggling from the Russian border and our anti-terrorist agencies together with the FBI/CIA and EU guys arresting them and all...

Not to mention the whole Asia VS Europe... The East VS The West... North VS South and little Georgia with it's 5 million population is caught in between, because it is geographically, politically and culturally... a bridge between Europe and Asia, East and West. It is not always the most convenient thing for sure, but that's what makes this place so special.

Beautiful city! It makes me wonder what other locations might be in DX:HR. We know of Montreal, Detriot, Philadelphia, and Shanghai. There is supposed to be one more metropolitan spot. I hope it isn't in North America. Maybe a Swiss city. I still wish DX:HR would be a constant night time game but oh well.

I spoke to an ex-patriot living in Shanghai this week. She said it is one of the most amazing places she's been. Apparently it's an advanced city with amazing architecture and high standard of living. She went on to say that the people their are cultured and despite having 2 million people in her area it feels less crowded than NYC. She's never coming back LOL.

There are some 200,000 ex-patriots living in Shanghai. So it shouldn't seem to out of place if 1 out of every 20 people aren't Chinese in popular urban areas.

Yeah a lot of the people in Shanghai are poor. Really poor. But you'll have a hard time seeing them behind all the glitz and glam of modern Shanghai (somebody's gotta build those buildings and give oral sex to those businessmen).

Looks damn nice at night though, especially the Bund.

DUH! When the riot cops look like the combine ...

J/k I'm happy to hear a whole state doesn't seem to be doing so bad. Kudos.

@Pringle: that's a given in any anywhere. It's especially true in larger cities.
