ABrandon is over-rated. Listen to enough of his work and it all eventually breaks into a very recognizable "Brandon signature solo" at some point in the song.

But I agree, using the DX motif would be effective, especially if the success of DXHR allows for further expansion. The theme music of DX would then have to play a more central role in the franchise much as lady Croft has her own five-note opening motif for each of her games.

My point is, why stop at re-implementing just the title theme music? It has its charm, but it's certainly not the best example of what Brandon did for the game.
I have never once played the training mission.

From day one, I always merely started the campaign and went from there.

Your task is simple. You know what you have to do. Make it clean, be efficient. Slow is careful, and careful is fast. Good luck.

but i can only say that today the vocabulary is pretty much anything goes

once had several chateaux.

By the by, has the James Bond theme aged so badly? I still personally giggle like a catholic schoolgirl in a coed gym class every time I hear it.

The training is very useful, and a unique level all it's own. You should play it.

I don't really care one way or the other, but it would be cool if that signature DX riff makes another appearance, like it did in the IW menu music.

I think they should focus on doing a theme that fits the atmosphere of the game, but have hints of the original theme in it. Kinda like Invisible War's theme.

Despite all my grumbling and distaste for this game's direction, I would probably melt into tears of joy and forgive all if I loaded up the title screen and was greeted with an update of the DX theme.

Use this as an opportunity to mend bridges, EM.

Don't this up. :|

Agreed. Though it sounds like I have less grumbling and distaste than you...I'm pretty optimistic. :P

Also would be nice if they threw in the Dragon Tooth Sword and other nice throwbacks for fans!

I don't really give a crap, but the new guy Mccann (spelling?) should do a remake.

I think an updated version could be nice, but something new that merely sounds similar would be enough for me. I'm a bigger fan of the credits music from DX2 to be honest.

It should be a remix by the original creator though, since the original mix should remain with the first game. Check out this live orchestral.

To use it as an actual theme would be a mistake. Don't let nostalgia cloud your judgement. That song doesn't hold up so well.
I agree, it would sound ridiculous. It wouldn't fit the dark cyberpunk atmosphere, and it was one the very few things that I didn't like in the first Deus Ex.

But the DTS uses nano-tech to keep the blade all sharp and lethal!

It's a question of recognizability. They put the theme at the end of the old teaser trailer because they knew that whether or not you liked the old theme, you'd recognize it instantly. Halo's theme has been around for 11 years, and having it present in each game of the trilogy (with added bells and whistles) adds continuity to individual installments of the series.

Forcing you to learn to use the light aug, how to use lockpicks/multitools/key codes/keys/weapons/medical and repair bots, etc. in a safe setting, also giving you a stealth situation that's probably more difficult than any other stealth situation in the first few levels of the game. It's fun. I also always thought it was cool that the Tarsus Apartments music in IW sounded like the training level in DX, since they are basically equivalent.

On another note, I did not know Alexander Brandon was from Cleveland, guess it makes this state a seem a little less sucky now.

So, it's not useful at all. I never needed training to figure any of that out.

I mean, there's an easy way to bypass the stealth section, but that's not nearly as fun. Oh, and the "holo museum" at the end is pretty cool.

I was trying to remember just how I had figured out how to use all those in-game features without the Training mission. Then it came to me... the Demo. I had played the demo so many times that when the full game released I had a firm understanding of all the gameplay mechanics.

Human Regeneration is not worth of being called a Deus Ex game. Its a different game and has almost no similarity to Deus Ex, so it should stay the ef away from the Theme.

The presence of at least a good remix is not even optional. It's pretty much mandatory.

Whether or not these mattered to you in the original (and you've made it clear they don't), they are nonetheless a huge part of the formula. And they are ALL present in Human Revolution.

You sir, are whiny liar.
