Didn't and doesn't sound weird to me. I love it. Says something like, "Looks like the Butler left the lights on for the night". Also doesn't he sometimes say stuff like, "Better check out my map", and the torch light quote in my signature? I like the quotes and like how he says them

It sounds weird, i dont know, after playing TDP when i first heard Garret in TMA it did sound weird to me.
I have a interesting idea. What happend with all the loot that Garret doesnt sell? In TDP and TMA all the items that we can get appears as loot, exept for The Lord Baffor's Scepter, The Horn of Quintus and The First Hammer. These items were not sold by Garret. Where are they? You probably think that Garret sold'em to get more money. The thing is, I'd like to see those things somewhere in Garret's Home. And he keeps them as treasures. What you think? Its possible I think jtr7 and others already covered this one. It would be kool to see some of these... trinkets in Garretts new abode.

An interesting idea... find some important loot in Garret's home. Why not.

The eye, DEFINITELY has to be in T4, or it/he could not show up at all becouse he will in T5 =P
The "Lucky Hand of Glory" appears as loot, but i realy think Garret has to take it back. |

-They ruined the return of The Eye -They scrapped the core concept of the Pagans, that they hate the City and want to live in the woods. -They affiliated Pagans with necromancy. (Trying to render Necromancers redundant) -They erased all traces of the Mechanists because of laziness. -They made a haunted and diseased pirate ghost ship an insignificant part of the City hub instead of making a really cool level or just letting the developers of a superior sequel make a cooler level out of that concept. -They made a sunken fortress of amphibious humanoids in a game that doesn't let you swim. (Instead of just letting the developers of a superior sequel make a cool level out of that concept) -They made a Clocktower mission in a game with no rope arrows. (And also insinuated that it's the Tallest building in the City, and then destroyed it.) -I was sure there was more...? I can't think of any right now... But what are the cool themes that haven't yet been explored in the series? For example: -Snow mission. -Countryside mission with large rural areas as well as a mansion job. -Office building mission with starting from the lowest floors you can see the whole spectrum of architecture in the Thief world. The basement has old moldy stone, the lower floors are cheap architecture and higher up there's victorian-era fancy stuff. -Casino/Cruise boat mission. Maybe with some undercover action. Everyone! Throw around ideas for missions that haven't yet been seen in the series!

You know, i was thinking about that, but the only thing i can think about is a REALLY BIG mansion and a REALLY GIGANTIC cathedral.
The office builds are cool, but the casino, i dont think so. There are no casinos in that time, i think. Im sure there are no gambling. There could be some kind a sport place demostrations, though. And you have to steal a saddle horse with incrusted diammonds, or also, a golden shield, that kind of stuff. |

I have no doubt that the eye will return eventually in some heavily influencing capacity. I am hoping, however, that we get to keep our other eye when he does return...

I think Platin, somehow, is right, but that doesnt mean that the eye is not going to be in Garret's way once again.

Um, we see a casino in Thief Gold and there's plenty of packs of cards lying around elsewhere.

I think Rieknor has actually played NONE of the Thief games because the 2 guards in the Pirate Mansion in TDS are also gambling. -"Pay up Mortimer!"
Have you Rieknor?

I did play TDP, TMA and TDS(didnt play Thief Gold, but im trying to), what i didnt do is read ALL of the books, papyrus or that stuff if in any say something about gambling.Although, you are right, i didnt remember the cards and thats stuff. And I didnt say "There's no gambling, i said i was sure. 70-30 Edit. Casinos really? becouse, i think, there could be places to gambling, illegal places. Of course, little and secret places. But casinos?? I dont think so. Like i tell you before, i havent read all the documents in Thief games, if you can tell me of one where it says something about a casino, i'll check by myself and i will just shut up. Edit. 2 I just realized that i said "gambling" refering to "Bets" not the game itself, the bet, thats what i really meant. Last edited by Rieknor; 07-05-2010 at 10:11 AM. |

You do not need to read anything (although there are readables aplenty)
You can get a copy of Thief Gold and WALK INTO A CASINO.

I like the idea of a sword/dagger choice in the mission briefing!
Short Sword = the standard stealth/movement penalty when drawn (as per the first 2 games)....good solid melee weapon! Dagger = can back-stab one shot kill unaware armored opponents (can accurately strike a weak spot in the armor better than a big sword). But otherwise sucks in melee combat! *the only way this is useful though is if they bring back the 'helmeted' guards are immune to blackjack AND short sword can't one shot back-stab kill armored opponents! |

Okey, there is a casino, that's the only

You actually have a mission to rob the thieves guild around mission 5 of Gold, it's the Downwind Thieves Guild. Although it is not legal as the casino is underground and you have to find a way in. There are 2 or 3 roulette tables and several tables for cards and two rooms where guards are posted to watch over the casino. There are a few servants playing.
