Default Demo crashing

I downloaded the demo for JC2 over Steam (Best. Invention. Ever) and I'm currently deciding whether or not to buy it, and one of the biggest concerns for me is the apparent instability.

I must have tried to play the demo at least a dozen times, and yet I've only managed to get through the entire time limit once. 3 or 4 more times it randomly stopped responding half way through, and game froze on one of the initial loading screens (either before or after the un-lip-synced, laggy intro movie)! It's definately nothing to do with my specs (more than enough to play the game).

So, basically, I was just wondering if other people had this problem with the demo, or if its just me. And if they have, did the actual game work ok?

Thanks.

For reference, my specs:
Intel i7 950 (3.06 GHz hyperthreaded quad core)
12GB RAM
nVidia GTS 250 1GB GFX card.
Windows 7 Ultimate/Pro (there seems to be some confusion as to which it is)

The demo crashed for me on the Xbox as well. Don't worry. It should be fixed in the real game, it just was too large of a map for the demo to control.

200th post yay

Thanks for clearing that up! That's my biggest concern dealt with then. Now to just work out if I'll get all £30 worth of fun out of it!

It's pretty fun, just don't play it excessively every chance you get. My friend is already at the 120 hour mark in 3 weeks. You can imagine the burnout by then. If you just have fun in the game and not go for these crazy rewards it is great.

Well, I've just thrown caution to the wind and bought the game! With any luck I won't regret it

Unless you hate fast cars, powerful weapons, big explosions, a huge world, and stunts that would make Chuck Norris soil himself you shouldn't be disappointed.

You'll certainly get your money's worth out of it.

That is a great way to describe it. Lol.

LMAO!!! That is, indeed, a great way to sell it!

It's not the content that worries me though, it's the control mechanism. I've found (for me at least) third person games are very hit or miss with the controls.
It's the small things that matter more to me
