I was just reading that other topic that guy made that said the DLC had destroyed his PS3. Turns out it wasn't the DLC anyway, but that aside, one of the posts in it was by a moderator here and it said "before you downloaded the DLC did you clear your cache?".
What does that mean? Clear the JC2 games cache? Clear your PS3's cache totally? How do you do either of these? Is it even possible to just clear the games cache for JC2 like it is with some other games?

Think you MIGHT press the triangle over the Just Cause 2 disc, then under possibly utilities or tools if there are. Also, going to your Game Options under the big category of Settings is where you may or may not find it.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for but...
If you go to the top folder "Game Data Utility" That's where all the game installs are kept for PS3 games. If you delete the game's install file, you'll also delete any patches and DLC as well. Meaning you'll have to re-download them if you want them. It won't delete your saves as they're kept in "Game Save Utility PS3" Downloaded games or demos don't usually have an install file as it's usually saved as one file for selecting. Pressing triangle will let you delete it. (To delete game installs, you have to press triangle and select "delete") Hope this helps. |

I would also like to add something about the "Game Date Utility" that some don't know, which is, if after you are done with the/a game forever, example, like it was a rental or your selling it, check the "Game Data Utility" and see how much info was installed on the hard drive by the game its self, just select the game (in the data utility), then the triangle button, then info to see how much data the game installed, the game "GhostBusters" installs over 4gb of data , JC2 installs 1141mb or just over a gig, so as you can see these files take up HD space and if your sure your "Never" going to play the game anytime soon or ever again, and you don't mind re-installing the game later, delete the file and free up HD space. Doing this will not mess up your "Trophies" or "Game save data" in any way, so get your hard drives back, especially if you got a small one, haha I said small one, HD that is.

Oh I know how the game data utility and that works. Is that what that mod meant though, that's what I want to know. When he said "did you clear your cache before downloading the DLC" did he mean did the guy wipe the install/dlc data from the game data utility first and then reinstall everything or what? Or is this mod on about something completely different when he says cache?

You can't clear your cache on PS3.. That can only be done on Xbox 360.
What you can do on PS3 though is delete the installed game data of Just Cause 2 by heading over to "Game Data Utilities" on the XMB |
