Memory ram question

Hello guys i have 8 gb of ddr3 OCZ 1600 but my technician toll me that was better to have 6 in triple channel since my mother have triple channel architecture with 6 slots than 8 but i decided to purchase another 6 gb more but some people have toll me that is the same so i come to you guys. Is better to have 12gb in triple channel or to have 6gb in triple channel? and if 12 will make the games and my computer faster tha already is?

Sometimes 12 is better then 8 but only if 8 is less then 6 or more then 9 also if you have 7 you may want to install 15 because 3 wont make for 8 or 6 but 4 and we all know that's just simply not good enough.

Yup. So says conventional wisdom. Though just make sure you never go for 5 - that just ruins everything.
