Love this series too... though the books are better, hehe.
I've also just started watching Alcatraz and I think this is another superb TV series.

'Hunger games'... I didn't like it at all, so cheap. Would rather read a book.

    Thumbs up

My brother and I just returned from seeing American Reunion. It wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible either. We were mildly entertained. Viva La Stiffler!

Next Saturday we'll be seeing The Avengers.

    The Avengers
I'm a HUGE Avengers fan, and I get excited every time I see it mentioned. Only I'm a fan of the British TV show The Avengers! Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against the comic book, but Mrs. Emma Peel is where it's at for me.
So after figuring out it's the comic book Avengers and not my "Avengers" I get bummed out

So, basically you were one of the few who loved this when it came out, then?

I'm 100% in the same boat as Dave here. I loved the original series. One of my favourite series of the 60ies - 70ies together with Columbo and TSoSF!

    Oh, Mrs Peel......

I did see that movie, TH, and was thoroughly disappointed. The movie itself was nice and all, but it completely ruins the legacy of TOS.

Also, while Uma was hot, Fiennes had nothing on Macnee

I haven't seen it yet, but after so many movies, I bet it just isn't the same tantric experience as the first one anymore, no

Thor: amusing but a bit of a let down.

Conan: Not bad and reasonably close to Howard's Idea of Conan

Rango: Well done Computer graphics. Interesting, and too true, morality play. The bit part with Eastwood as "The Man with no Name", was refreshing.

Yep, it wasn't a great movie but I liked it anyway I have a feeling if you aren't a fan of the TV show it wouldn't have made much sense.
It was almost more of a long TV episode rather than a movie feeling.
Casting Eddy Izzard as a thug was great!. They always had strange interesting bad guys on the show and he certainly is one!
    Oh well, they tried
Also, while Uma was hot, Fiennes had nothing on Macnee
OH YEAH! Uma was hot. I didn't mind Fiennes' role, he was slick enough.
But yeah, it wasn't all there. But I kind of feel the same way about the new Doctor Who episides. And I mean new as in ones made after they shut down post Sylvester McCoy. They lost continuity and feeling or TOS. Of course the McCoy series wasn't that great either

Thor: amusing but a bit of a let down.
Yep, so-so. Entertaining but not memorable. I'm not that big on any of the comicbook movies made to date. They're all a bit off, none of them has much life on it's own.

I've just seen the trailer for Johnny Depp's new (vampire) movie, "Dark Shadows" and want to watch this one. Hope it's good... I'm a dedicated Depp fan.

I doubt it will come close to the TV show. Plus it's a comedy???

Great music! I remember being scared when that show came on!

I've seen it (only twice so far) twice in a week... the only other films that's done that really was the first time I watched Donnie Darko.

But yes, it is now one of my favorites. The only problem is however, I couldn't possibly chose between Varrick or Dirty Harry (considering they're both directed by Don Siegel).

In all seriousness though, I loved it. I personally loved Loki as a villian. I loved/hated him so much. Even better than in Thor. Loki is the perfect example of of a villian that I love to hate him, yet hate to love. It's hard to explain. There are many villian are feel that way about. Darth Vader (Star Wars saga), Cesare Borgia (Assassin's Creed Brotherhood), and Vladimir Makarov (Modern Warfare series), just to name a few.

"Freedom is life's great lie. Once you accept that, in your heart, you will know peace."

"Kneel before me. I said... KNEEL! Is not this simpler? Is this not your natural state? It's the unspoken truth of humanity that you crave subjugation. The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power. For identity. You were made to be ruled. In the end, you will always kneel."

"How desperate are you, that you call upon such lost creatures to defend you?"

A very likeable villian, who can also be hated, if that makes any sense.
