Amen to that, brother! The torrent community is killing PC game development.

5 stars for the ''Only supporting legit copies'' part. Lucky me I did not download it 8D.

On the other hand, JC2 popularity will SURELY increase with at least 300%

thanks for the reply dude, i am REALLY looking forward to this mod, just a quick question:

1. is this your site? http://www.jc2mp.com/

2. Is the mod going to be like the SA mod as in there are no AI in the world, because i would love to mess with the police during multiplayer

Keep up the work though, hell if it was good enough i would willingly pay for this mod!

AGREED! Pirates suck dick

EDIT: Why isn't dick replaced with that smily??

And enzo u may wanna replace ur sig as it says ur getting the game this friday, unless of course you are

It's going to be for legit coppies only?
That's a nice thing to do. Too bad most of my friends don't buy these kind of games, but what the hell! there will be many players online haha.

Only thing i'm worried about is that it would be very quiete on the servers. SAMP was a succes thanks to all the downloaders and i'm sure over 50% of all of the players did not buy the game. So i hope there would still be much people online, so it would be nice to play.

I really loved GTA SAMP, so thanks for making another great mod!

I don't think they could do anything to prevent people with pirates copies to play online, even Rockstar with GTA4 wasn't able to prevent people to play online with pirate copy of the game (if you have any legal Games for Windows Live account you can play online in GTA4 with that account)

I didn't, but, I was playing a legit copy. Lol. My old roomie had a copy of the game and I'd start my game or vice versa, then we'd pull the disc and give it to the other. Worked great. But it was somewhat hard to find PC games at the time, especially some of the older ones, since Gamestop kind of... Stopped.. Selling them, and Walmart kinda well, ya'know.. Sucks at selling PC games. Lol.

As much as I'd love to say we'd be able to make JC2-MP for all platforms : it's just not possible for us.

I realize what I'm about to say will upset some, but the truth of it is: We'll only be able to support the PC version of Just Cause 2, and we'll only support the legit steam version of the game. We're not interested in supporting those not willing to support the developers of the game.

On lighter news, we've got our website on the way and hopefully another video to show soon.
the problem with that is VAC ie any modification of the files / hooking /injecting will trigger a VAC event and most likely lead to your account getting banned pirates will find away around it so going out of your way to stop pirates from playing is m00t

He didn't say he was going out of his way to stop pirates, he simply said he wasn't going to support the pirates.

As for the argument that more people would play it if they could play it pirated.... I'd counter that with more people would buy the game and give the company the money they deserve if they can't play it pirated.

Well, considering the PC version requires Steam and requires a valid key through Steam, I don't think pirated copies will ever be an issue. If they do what I think they'll do, and that being, have Steam distribute the MP Mode as a free mod, definitely doubt it'll be an issue.

No ***** sherlock. Steam was cracked, but the 'crack' that lets you work around it only works on select games. In short, you want patches for your JC2, you'd best stick with a legit copy either way, but even so, I doubt JC2 will get cracked. As said before, game pirates are ruining the PC gaming industry.

In short, if we want PC games still stop pirating them. And by you mentioning that it was cracked, I'm guessing you pirate games. GL, gtfo. n.n

It was actually cracked before that, lol. Well, the demo was anyways. Not exactly cracked, but boundaries and timer taken off. But even so, you gotta take in mind that the actual game is quite different, especially when it comes to cracking it. I doubt it will ever be fully cracked so you can get updates and all that, but if it ever is, I hope they get caught. No offense, but when it comes to pirating games, its a pain because it screws us PC gamers over, we get lucked out on a lot of games. Besides, you guys are talking about this on the JC2 official forums. Its like telling them "hey, we're gonna steal your game!".

It was fully cracked.

For the patch: somebody extracts the gcf or ncf files that the patch came in, copy, paste, maybe some file converting and packing, done.

game has been fully cracked INCLUDING the dlc since both where released ( if you don't believe me Google is your buddy)
but back on topic my concern is VAC and or getting valve/steam to "sign" the mod so it don't start banning peoples accounts willy-nilly

I'm not sure about that. The steam news actually said that there were some smart modders working on JC2, in positive way. I think they won't disapprove this, and by the way, if I was the owner of JC2 I would find it an HONOR to get these people working on a MP version.

Agreed, when the modding community swarms a game, you know you got something popular.
