Default Most important fixes for (hopefully upcoming) patch

Not to focus entirely on negative things, just let me start by saying that I absolutely love this game. Haven't had so much fun in a game in years. Thanks!!

In my opinion the issues that should be addressed are (in order of priority):

1. Camera re-centering or camera autocenter or whatever you prefer to call it. I know that you can hold a mouse button to avoid it, but there should be an option to turn re-centering off. And there should instead be a button you can press if you want the camera to re-center. A lot of people have complained about this, so hopefully we will be heard.

2. Awkward mouse control with helicopter. The helicopters are a pain to control. Please allow for free camera with mouse (no re-centering please) and use buttons to control turning instead.

3. Awkward mouse control with Parachute. Please allow for free camera with mouse (no re-centering please).

4. Mouse is way too sensitive when base jumping (or in general falling through the air without the parachute).

5. Button assignment collosions. There are some button assignments that seem to be mutually excluse. Seems in particular to be a problem with using mouse1 and mouse3 to fire with under Weapon controls and Vehicle controls.

6. Extra mouse buttons don't work. This IS a PC-game, right? So why don't the extra buttons on my mouse work? I have a Razer mouse, but the game doesn't recognize button 4 and 5 on it. I have read this happens to other mouse types as well.

Honestly I will be happy if only the first 3 are fixed.

hi
I have another bug i hope it to be fixed soon. Sure it doesn't concern you, but you still may put it on 1st: Fix this very annoying controls delay issue met on certain configurations (not depending of their performances) that make the game unplayable (i dont speak about the quality of vehicle handling, but really a delay, from 1/4 to 1 sec... can you imagine you playing a fps in which you must anticipate to get as faster as newbies? i cant)

Then how would you shoot, with right shft / ctrl? I think that a free look button would be better, assigned to mouse 4/5. However i did hate this in GTA IV...

You have a point there. However I still think too much effort is needed to turn the helis with the mouse. Could still shoot with free camera. Just limit the shooting to a certain angle when the mouse is pointing forward.

Agree with all 6 points. Seriously 50% of my in game deaths have been from fighting with the controls. Everything else is perfect.
Although I would add:

7. Support for other gamepads/joysticks.

Hmmm, I don't think I have experienced the input lag or control delay issue that you guys are talking about. How does it manifest? Does it take a long time from you move your mouse until something happens?

The only input issue I have experienced is when I move the mouse to turn around when controlling the player (not in a vehicle). If I turn at a "normal" pace then it's fine, but if I move the mouse fast to turn around quicly then it seems to decelerate instead of accelerate. Very strange.

fix the game breaking bug that some people have where the game crashes randomly after a few minutes after completing a first mission for a faction
it seems that it happens to people with ATI drivers, I've got a Radeon HD 3650 myself

Yep,i can confirm that.
My G9 thumb buttons are not supported,i would like to assign grapple to a thumb button, and nade throwing.

I haven't tried mapping the mouse buttons to keys with the mouse software yet, maybe that's a workaround? But it would be nice to free up the F key for other tasks.

Also, why are there no binoculars in this game??? (or have i missed something?)

Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is to wait for drivers...

For my asus laptop with a gtx260M, i waited around 1 week to play, it crashed 30 sec after i started playing, now it works well (it stll crashed, but after 4-5h of playing, i don't care ^^)

So, i hope for you that there will be a release soon for your gpu

There are other smalller things that I'd like to see addressed but the following 3 are the most important, number 1 being almost game breaking, things that absolutely need fixing imo.

1) Mouse negative acceleration (deceleration) needs to be able to be turned off or just taken out of the game completely.
2) As mentioned in the OP, the extra mouse buttons (4 and 5) need to be assignable (I have a Logitech Optical X518 gaming mouse and they just don't work)
3) As mentioned in the OP, problems with key/button assignments colliding needs to be addressed.

As it stands JC2 is a smashing game but it is let down hugely by the current poor implementation of controls on the PC.

I have a logi G5 and all my buttons are usable, you need to remap them as keystrokes and all is fine. I'm not sure the Razor does this? I would assume it does with it's software just as mine does. I have my scroll side to side set to grapple and melee. So just set your buttons to keystrokes and remap in the game and they work fine.

I agree with #5, but I think everything else is fine. The button remapping is so cumbersome and the collisions really get in the way.
