Default Realistically, how do you think Just Cause 2 will sell?

Of course, we all hope that JC2 will sell amazingly, to reward the devs on their incredible job in creating such an awesome game (YAY, adjectives!), and so that a sequel will be released, but how well do you think it will actually end up selling?

There have been over 2 million downloads of the demo, which is encouraging, but I still can't really predict how well it will sell. A few months ago I was thinking that it would be an unknown gem, but now, hype seems to be building, and I'm starting to think it will sell a loy of copies, and will probably warrant a sequel.

What do you think?

at first i thought it was also an unknown gem, because nobody i knew had even heard of JC1 or even that they were making a JC2,
it needs to be advertised a bit more and show it off to those who haven't seen it yet.,

it will be tough for sales during the release i think but perhaps when it's reputation grows so will the sales,
or it could fail miserably, but i doubt it.

Yeah, I got so excited when I saw the first advert for JC2 which wasn't a link from here (I think it was on youtube); people will find out about the game!

Thumbs up

This game was kinda unknown after i played that AWSOME demo.
I didn't even know that there was JC1 on ps2

I'm going to pre-order Limited edition. This is way better than GTA, you have a lot more freedom.

You do realize that if they sold that many, it wouldn't be that many, considering over 2 million demos have been downloaded. So that would be an epic fail

I remember I was looking a jc1 one day and didn't give it any thought. Then a couple months later I bought it off of eBay. I have been addicted to the game. Just Cause 2 definetly needs more advertisement though.

Lets be realistic here. Can you honestly go up to an average every day gamer and say "Hey you know that game just cause 2?" of course u can duh but what are the chances of them knowing it? I know alot of serious gamers and almost none of them know of this game. i didnt even know about it until i randomly went to the PSN store and read the description of the demo sounded cool, played it, now its 1 of my favorite game even if i havent played the full game. just cause 2 has potential but what it dosent have is publicity. If they even had a chance of getting known as much as games like MW2 it would be a best seller and maybe even a platinum hit the only problem is that not many people know about it

I definitely see where you're coming from, but I think word of mouth is spreading. Because of this, I also think that JC2 will not have the most amazing day 1 sales, but will continue to sell at a steady rate, beyond the 'tail' of most games.

I think it will do quite well. Probably better than JC1 and will give the grounds for there to be a JC3.

This is going to be a big selling game I think but think the main effects from the boost in JC popularity will be shown more in future games within the series.

Honestly, I think it will sell alright but not the best (It should!) I mean cmon it has to compete with Reach even though JC should win hands down.
I have been trying to convince everyone on my friends list to play JC2 demo and most agree that its amazing so I think the demo might make it sell far better than it would without.
Its one of the top Xbox live downloaded demo's now and I think its 2nd best rated. Not bad. Not bad at all.
Only time will tell though huh?

Edit: It would most certainly be good enough for another Just Cause game.

I don't think it's going to be an overnight success after release, but I think that when copies get distributed, people start posting their videos and showing their friends this game is going to build a lot of momentum and sell very very well in the end.

It will sell well due to the fact the demo was well received by the gaming community.

It has been downloaded and played thousands of times. Also I have seen positive reviews from many sources.

Just love jc and jc2.

BUT, casual gamers do not even know about JC2.
I spoke with a few friends and they looked at jc2 just like other sandbox.

The problem is...Eidos is not R*, is not EA, is not FIFA.
But eidos gave us bestsellers such thief.

A little of marketing wont waste
I know, spots are money suckers, but ignorant people (and for ignorant i mean that "do not know") will just see how wonderful the world is without fifa or gta
