Default The reason your hopes are to high for grappel hook.

From what I rememeber in one of the interviews, they said that there aren't predetermind grappel points and that you could attach any part of anything to any part of anything, i.e. Person by the leg to a helicopter blade. But from whatching the gameplay, the grappaling hook always attahces to the center of things. For helicopters it is exactly the center of the it's bottom, (I guess for better weight destribution) for humans it it the bellybutton (Or some where there) and so on.

So those of you with great ideas about attaching certain parts of things to other certain parts may be dissapointed.

I really hope I am wrong and the final game is as stated in one of the trailers.

It could be just the auto aim is turned on ? maybe if you turn it off you will get the freedom to aim were you want ?

Wow i never thought of this in this way, sounds quite logic to me, though i'm not sure wether you can turn it off or not ,as you couldn't in the first one.

The predetermined points are for cars and people. The land iteself is not pre determined.

I was going to mention this too. Well done STMaraj.

And you can't grapple to helecopter blades because I'm pretty sure they don't even have collision.

For the PC-Version:
From: http://www.eurogamer.de/articles/jus...schau_3?page=2
"Bewegt ihr das Fadenkreuz in die Nähe eines Feindes, rastet es gewissermaßen ein, färbt sich rot und ihr könnt munter drauflosballern, ohne euch großartig Sorgen machen zu müssen. Bei den rasanten Actionszenen, ist es aber auch von Vorteil, wenn man nicht ständig präzise Anvisieren muss. Wer will, kann aber auch das machen. Zoom aktivieren, gut zielen, Headshot. Je nachdem, was ihr bevorzugt. "

Short-Translation:
"If you're in action you can move the crosshair near the enemy and shoot, it will kind of assist your aim.
If you prefere, you can zoom in and aim manually."

I think that may effect the grapple - but than it may not, too ^^

I read somethere else, that the "aim assist" is a feature for the consoles due to joypad and the PC version will have it disabled by standard... but i can't verify that with a link - i just think i read it somewhere.

kind regards

maybe its only predetermined if the object is moving to help with aiming, otherwise it coulde be quite tough to grapple a helicopter for instance.

Well I am not sure that it's going to be a problem, just that people should really not expect too much, because they will be dissapointed. Whearas if you expect little, you will be joyed to yellow stains in your pants

Ok, to clear this one up, yes they did say you can grapple onto anything that has a collision, and what they were talking about was buildings, trees etc. but, you're asking about vehicles and people, which unless I'm very much mistaken, do have pre-defined grapple points.

I believe on vehicles, this is so that Rico can easily get into the stunt position, which makes it a lot easier when you're in a tight spot and need to get on top of the vehicle. You will get used to it and won't really notice it much, but it is a lot of fun nonetheless, so don't worry about it too much, the vehicles will always do something different each time!

yah i agree because u can stillmove around on some vehicles, remember the first gameplay walkthrough vid on the humvees ittl still be cool, just because you cant play tag in the top of a plane wont mean the game will be lame
