Stuck after getting back to boat

I am in the beginning of the game where I have to work my way back to the boat to beat the mercinaries. I made it back, but when I check the PDA for a hint as to what to do next, I am told to make it back to the surface. I am assuming that I am missing something. Could someome help out with what I am?

Did you get back to the yacht? You are supposed to get out of the water, then a cutscene will start (and take you to the next location). Then you'll have to enter the big ship by climbing the anchor and chain.

Right so your off the boat,are you ON the yacht. That is probs why if you climb up then the PDA thing will change and it will say 'I need to climb up on these cargo containers to get to the upper deck )
