Thanks for that.

It's worse than just inserting it, however. The put next to it a remove option in the edit section. I've tried four times to remove it and it won't let me when I try to save changes. An error message comes up saying it couldn't be removed, so it cannot currently be changed, it appears. Can't say that makes any sense (nor is it ethical).

I can't stand Fb. I tried it for about 2 months, ended up defriending people when I didn't know that I did that so they're upset, etc. I mean, it's not only CONFUSING, but it's CREEPY! Everyone and their Mother can see everything you post because a *friend of a friend of a friend* has access...
SORRY, But I don't WANT that many friends. Ya know?

It's a nightmare. They're using Fb in Court nowadays and Twitter too! Once you write it man... TOO LATE.

You can change the privacy settings for status updates, but I understand what you're saying. As for friends getting upset about you unfriending them, if you told them you don't like facebook and you find it hard to use then I really wonder if they should be getting upset. People are silly sometimes.

But yeah, always be careful about what you say on the Internet, because once it's on someone else's screen it's not private anymore.

I completely agree with you there. I was just forced to use the timeline and I think it's a disastrous mess.

Well ya know the stocks fell horrifically since it went public... Is it because they DID GO PUBLIC? Or because they're trying too many new things that Users really aren't prepared for or WANT for that matter...

It seems yinz guys'd know. Whatcha think?

I think they were already on the way down at the time. And it looks like the initial price was manipulated. If that turns out to be true, the stock isn't going down, it just slowly realizing it's correct value

I HATE the timeline so much. I guess that's what we get for not paying for something: stuff we don't like.

HELP HELP HELP!!!
I haven't gotten into Facebook yet, for a long list of reasons. For a while now I've been getting friend request. I didn't really think about it. I got email from an online friend today asking how come I didn't "friend" him. I told him I didn't have a Facebook page. He said "yes you do, I'm looking at it right now."
WHA????????
I NEVER signed up, nor do I have any sign up info in my email, spam, junk or otherwise.
But apparently I do, I just went there, reset my password. Looked around and saw nothing indicating anyone, including me, had ever been there.
I wanted to find out when "my" account was activated and why I had an account in the first place. It seems there is no place to get help there or ask questions unless your question fits a specific type of request. There isn't even a help forum to ask general account information.
I was a little iffy about Facebook before but now I REALLY HATE IT!

Is there anyone here with some Facebook smarts? Is there some way I could have been automatically signed up? How could I find out if someone else signed me up?
One thing for sure. BLOWHARD,you have given your private details out. The person who created your facebook account knows your First Name, your Last Name,Your Email(that is why you got friend's requests),your gender, your Birthday etc....You asked "How could I find out if someone else signed me up?". You already have the answer for that question. If you did not signed up for facebook then somebody else signed you up for facebook.
You said "I wanted to find out when "my" account was activated". It is easy
if you have the email and password. First you enter your email and password. Then you have to activate timeline and navigate the facebook web page to the bottom then after some time you will find out rectangular box that says Joined Facebook and a date. That is the day that your facebook account activated.

Heya Warunasanjaya, thanks for the reply. But it looks like I must have signed up, it was discussed early in this thread. I probably started to sign up to look at something, never finished and assumed I hadn't signed up. My account was dormant, nothing was done with it. Put it down to early senility
