Hey, IO, is there any chance you would let us play a demo of one of the levels (such as Run for your life or Chinatown)? After all, all Hitman games have had demos to hype them up, wouldn't want to break up tradition or anything
![]() In all seriousness, though, is there any reason why a demo shouldn't be released? I don't know much about marketing, but I'd think a demo of one of the levels would get a lot of people to buy the game. What do you think? Confirmation from a IO Developer if we have a demo or not would be great

Check the FAQ. The mods have stated that there are currently no plans for a demo as of this moment.
And while a demo would be nice, the fan base knows what they are buying and know they will still love it. |

In the old days, demos were used for hyping games up. To convince new customers to buy the product based on positive experiences with the free demo. Today, the meaning of demos has reversed. They waste development resources because you need to do an extra day of work to split a single level from the full game, and the only effect that a demo can have is to convince new customers not to buy the game based on negative experiences with the free demo. Modern game development is in internal conflict with the expectation of extreme dumbing down in hopes of appealing to larger audiences to make up for the money wasted on extreme graphics, and the lack of confidence in the quality of the final game caused exactly by that attempt to appeal to larger audiences by dumbing the games down. So developing a demo is a risk. You waste money on something that instead of getting your game more and better publicity, might show people that the game isn't really that good. So they would much rather just show carefully directed demonstration videos that give everyone the illusion of quality, and the future customers can only find out if it's all true when they have already bought the full game and then it's too late for them. When someone plays a demo, they have firsthand experience of any negative features there could be. But with promotional videos, those thing don't need to come up at all.

Sniper Challenge isn't a demo of Hitman Absolution! It is a reward for all people who pre-order the game. It doesn't show how Absolution will look, how it would work etc. You can't call Sniper Challenge as "demo of Hitman Absolution".

I would really like to see a demo in wich you can select the actual difficulty level.I really want to know what all the differences are in each one,to then play on that difficulty in Absolution.
The main thing being if the minimap/npc radar is disabled in Hard or Expert, and not only in Purist.

Because it's not available for all of the people.

2. It's named "Hitman: Sniper Challenge", not "Hitman: Absolution Demo". 3. It demonstrates only some of the features which will be available in Absolution, but all of them was adapted especially to this mini game and this style (sniping from one spot). 4. By playing the game you can unlock some bonuses for use in Absolution, so you definitely can call it by DLC for Absolution. Want more? |
