Default Will They Make Another Series After TR9?

Do you guys think they'll start making an entire new series, or will they stop at this game?

Not likely, this is a reboot. Expect many more to come

Oh, they wouldn't reboot the whole series just to stop there. It's a whole new story so they have a lot of material for new games!

Exactly. I can't see why they would end the series just as they re-started it, heh. And I for one am really looking forward to seeing how the new Lara reintegrates her aristocratic heritagte after her island ordeal. Plus soooooo want to see the more realistic Lara in extravagent evening gowns

I've got the same answer as the others, this reboot has no ties to other games, so the possibilities are many

I think the idea is that this will be the relaunch of the franchise, so there will be quite a few more games to follow.

I'd bet we won't have half so long to wait for the next game, either, with the direction set, background worked out and engine fully rigged.

After this one, I'd expect the next around 2015 - 2016 (Given the likely 2013 release of this). Two to three years seeming like the normal turnaround time once the engine is fully up & running on a franchise (Normal as opposed to 'rush out fast and not really finished' as a fast cash in ).

The Tomb Raider brand is so strong that there will definitely be more games and it's 99% certain CD will be the developer. There would no sence when they have TR and done this big reboot (which probably will be a BIG sucess) to switch to a new brand or stop there.

im pretty sure there will be more. after this one we might get a game that continue when lara gets home, starts to get training and goes on her new adventure.
so yeah, im sure they have an idea already what will the next game be like.

lol, we will see. but you know anyway what i mean. she might learn how to do acrobatics, better gun training, etc.

that would be a nice sequel;
she gets home. needs maybe psychiatric help because she has nightmares. so she starts to take acrobatic lessons, gun training, etc. and she goes to a better prepared adventure. but during this, she still misjudges nature, tombs, some trials and errors, etc and comes back home again to learn more. then off to her second adventure....
i think you see where im going with this.

this way, she slowly grows up and gains more experience. its just impossible to be fully experience just after this adventure. you need more of it to make sure we really have this lara we know.

Have we found out if she's still an orphan in this series? I think it would bit refreshing if her parents weren't dead in the reboot.

I was hoping you guys would say what you said so that's good. I am also interested after this Tomb Raider, how Lara's life will continue. I hope the next game has a mansion for us to explore.

Everyone loves the mansion so I really hope they do bring it back in future games rather than saying it isn't to do with the new Lara

I'm just thinking where else she could go next, and what relics she could find. Well, there some vast swathes of Africa yet untouched, Australia (perhaps a tomb in Ayers rock), Polynesia, East coast South America (including the Amazon), Canada (perhaps a First Nations tomb in the Rockies), the Middle East. All I hope wherever she goes next, there will be plenty of puzzles and tombs, where after a while, it suddenly dawns on you how to do it, and the obstacles and climbable stuff blend into the environment (they seem to like cement strips stuck to the wall of late)

But there is plenty of life in the old dog yet, as they say, especially since they are rebooting the series, and taking it supposedly in a different angle. I just wonder what it will be like?

Most definitely. Spending all this time and effort (and MONEY) into rebooting the series and only making 1 game would be crazy!

Even if somehow this game flops (very unlikely! *knocks on wood*) I'm pretty sure they'll continue nonetheless, one way or the other.

As for what else Lara could do in the next game; I think there are plenty of locations that she can set foot on. In fact, it doesn't even need to be a REAL place. It could simply be a fictional city / country / island / etc.

I'm personally really hoping for a new game in the LC:tGoL series before a sequel to this one. That game was amazing

Like, a 2014 for another LC game, and then a 2015-2016 release for a new TR game.

^^^ I wouldn't mind seeing another "stand-alone" like GoL either.

As far as another series goes, I think this up coming game will have to flop worse then "AoD" did to kill Lara's console/PC adventures. She's a gaming icon with a rabid, loyal fanbase. Shedloads of $ to be made from that combo. They'd be stupid not to keep making them, so long as demand is there.

if so, then i hope the fix the controls for the pc that it has M&K support as a real pc game should have, remove all the bugs and glitches, then i will consider getting it. till then, AoD is still the second worst game i have ever played.

otherwise, i just hope they will take their time making a new game after this one. unless they know exactly how to progress with lara and the story to keep it interesting. but still soulndt release it every year like the call of duty series.

lol they won't remake AoD.

Maybe they'll use the same story or parts of it, though. I'd love to see another game with Lara being framed for murder and being a fugitive, etc.

Even IF by some miracle they'll decide to do a full remake, you wouldn't have to worry about those same PC bugs, because they'll use their own engine of course.

Forget about PC AoD. Get it for PS2. It's mostly well playable on the console
