Default Star Trek vs. Tomb Raider

For those who missed it:

I found it absolutely hilarious seeing ensign Wesley Crusher interviewing a TR dev

Wow, you know I've been watching Eureka for forever now and I never even realized that was him. His face and voice are so different from his Ensign days

Oh wow he's grown up! I'll admit I don't watch tv much, so this is possibly the first time I've seen him outside of Trek. Very strange seeing him now after having known him looking the way he did on Trek for so long. But, I had the same shock when I saw recent photos of Jake Lloyd from "The Phantom Menance".

I had a good laugh when I first saw Independence Day:

I thought everybody knew it was Brent Spiner, aka Data

Did any of you peeps watch that crtoon series, Gargoyles? By far the finest ever produced. It seems like a lot of the Trek actors got a second career with that show.

Started with Jonathan Frakes and Mirina Sirtis as David Xanatos and Demona. Then along came Michael Dorn, Brent Spiner (SO awesome as Puck), Colm Meany, and Kate Mulgrew.

I can't really stand him, but I guess it's funny and weird to get him to be the interviewer

A long time ago I saw this promo video about the Video Toaster in the early 80s. This was way before Maya, 3D Studio Max, and Adobe Premiere. I can remember being so wowed by the demonstrations (running on Amiga IIRC), and the idea of a broadcasting graphics and CG render app that could be in the hands of "the common house user" making quite an impression.

Is that app actually still around?

NewTek is still around and they still have lightwave. The Video Toaster brand has long since gone but now sell something call a TriToaster (I think).

They are still quite a few companies that still use Amiga setups with video toasters. I miss my Amiga

Yeah, I just about jumped out of my seat in the theater screaming: "HOLY CRAP IT'S DATA!!"when I first saw that flick and he came onscreen (no pun intended) for the first time.
