Default Is Absolution the final game in the series.

Does anyone know if they said if this is the last game. Or maybe it depends on Absolution being a success and hopefully we don't have to wait another six years.

Well, IOI did make quite a few games, after Blood Money. But, back on topic, who knows, I'm just glad they're making Absolution.

They just made a brand new engine for the game which is essentially future proof for next gen tech. and hitman is to IOI, what mario is to Nintendo. Hitman looks like it might wrap up some of it's old dependancies in absolution, and then move forward with a new set of ideas/ story possibilities.

They're going to start doing yearly Hitman releases when the next consoles are out.

The Hitman series will continue, I'm not sure if they'll do yearly releases, but there are rumors for a new game already, called Hitman Profession, of course it's just a rumor, but I know for a fact that they have stated that the series will continue after Absolution.

Maybe they are going to do something like in Contracts, and give a glimpse of the next game in the last mission.

I don't really like the idea of the games being released every single year. I'd prefer at least two or three years in between the releases of each installment, as experimentation has always been a key thing in Hitman games, figuring out how to kill someone, and finding knew ways to do so and improve your mission rating. If each game is released one year after the last, I don't think there will be enough time to actually experiment with the games because players will jump into the next game once it releases, there just won't be enough time to get the full experience out of each game that is released.

Good point I would like them to take their time but pace themselves also to make a great game every 2-3 years. The longer it takes the better the game it will be.

Simple solution. Don't buy the new release until you're finished with the one you have. Besides, a year is a long time. If you're not getting the full experience out of a game in one year, you're not playing it enough.

I'm clearly against making hitman every 1-2-3 years. Who the hell wants that? A game needs to settle for some years, let everyone enjoy it, experiment with it, and they should make a new only if they have new ideas, new good ideas thats it. I hate it when they make games every year with nothing inovative, just to make money. Enjoy your hitman, then play another game. I am disgusted for example with the need for speed series, making a game every now and then just to suck up your money.

As a series of logic events, Hitman is over after Hitman Codename 47.
As a hitman, Hitman is over after Hitman 2 Silent Assassin.
It is symbolic that the other has no numbers in the titles and even the title of this topic has no word "Hitman"
