I didnīt find this posted anywhere,so sorry if it has already been posted.
While watching a playtrough of a Gamescom demo,I saw the end level new stats screen,in which the requirements are showed. http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/295/lolzhf.jpg It appears that knocking out someone takes away your Silent Assassin rank. IO wasnt kidding when they said Silent Assassin would be hard to achieve.

I doubt it will be any harder than it is in Blood Money, despite knocking people out in that game does not bust SA. Because let's face it... new games are easy. Absolution probably will not have nearly as unforgiving and unreasonably challenging level design as Blood Money has. I'm pretty sure that the levels in Absolution are designed to support the possibility of achieving SA much more than the levels in Blood Money were. In Absolution standards, many missions in the previous games wouldn't support SA at all. Because they were not designed for the possibility of total ghosting playing style.

You can pacify NPC (for getting a disguise) and get a Silent Assassin rating. But not by hand to hand combat but only by subdue I think. And maybe it's needed to hide the body of that NPC. And don't be spotted and only target killed.

there are always methods and paths. It is way harder in some missions bordering on near impossible to do things suit only, more than it is to achieve an SA rank. Also casualties suggested there are snapped necks being subdue'd doesn't necessarily reflect as a casualty if they are found asleep after the fact.
Even if it is, anyone blocking your way can be bypassed via outfit, or timed patrol, or alternative method around them without being spotted equally as much. This is why hitman is such a successful series because the games do all of that and more, and some super insane hitman fans can do things even IO never saw coming. So there is ALWAYS a way, and don't let a public demo meant for old forgetful fans and to lure in new casual gamers and non hitman fans get you concerned. |

if you read it says Non Target Casualty x13 which means he Killed them.
So I'm guess that you can still KO them and be Fine... |

Btw i'm a hardcore Silent Assassin achiever *without gamefaqs* so I'm looking forward how hard it is, my favourite part of Hitman is sitting on a level, watching my beautiful movement animation, planning SA for hours, restarting the level a million times. I hope it's gonna be very good in this game. Either way I will enjoy it, there was no way this'll be a waste of my money. Question is, will it be great or amazing. |

i said he killed them , just telling other that what the "x13" was meaning so im guessing you can still KO and get SA rating... the OP, was guess that KO takes away from SA but the "KO" was not "KO" but Kill... |

K.OīS in Absolution seem to be called "Pacification",and in the picture it shows that they count agains Silent Assassin.

it may just just lower the Score,
SA rating just Multiply your Score... players who SA without KO would get a better Score than those SA that did KO. just another Way to give depth to the Scoring system and to prove who is a better Assassin. SA would X bonus the score you get, if you KO the SA bonus would multiply that lower Score IMO that would be Fair, ....like i said you could still get SA with KO, but we Cant confirm anything yet i guess. |
