As a long time fan and follower of the Hitman series I am very upset and even disgusted that eidos has dropped David Bateson (The former 47 voice actor for all previous games). Removing him is like removing the soul of the Hitman games. He is 47. Please reconsider reinstating him as 47, it might cost a little bit of money and time to have him redo all the recorded lines, but for the loyal fans, and for him, I think it would be worth it. If that's not possible, at least contact him and offer him a position in the next hitman game (if there is one).

To all the fans of the computer game series Hitman, I am extremely disappointed to announce that after 11 years as the voice of Agent 47, I have been unceremoniously dropped from the franchise. May I take this opportunity to warmly thank all those who have written to me in support.

I really appreciate it and I only hope for your sakes, Hitman Absolution lives up to all our expectations. I am sure it will. I have been honoured to have been a part of such an incredible game.

For legal reasons, I cannot comment further at the moment.

Rumors are that IO isn't even answering his calls or messages! Just dropped all contact after Blood Money. What a slap in the face after 11 years.

You know how they haven't even announced the new voice actor for Absolution? I think this is a sign that Bateson could possibly still have a chance at reclaiming his role.

Please IO, do the right thing. No reason you could possibly give could convince us that you're making the right choice by replacing Bateson. If you don't like something about his voice acting, in all likelihood he's flexible, he could accomodate your needs. Does he not sound american enough? He could accomodate you, if you just give him a chance.

I'll make you a deal IO. At least let Bateson audition. If he doesn't pass because you think he's so much lower than you're newly found production values then I will be content.

It would be really nice to have him back, I'm sure most of us agree on that.

It is nearer the bottom of my list though, as a Hitman fan I want a decent game first, then I can worry about voices.

I would say such type of gameplay. But since "blood money" mafia everywhere, so I don't think that something will be changed in this game. Only the Inquisition or a meteorite will able to destroy such dinosaurs (aka "accident").

it might be possible but it's not like he talked much to begin with.it's like making metal gear without david hayter you know? personally i don't mind as long as he talks very little. agent 47 is more of a action guy anyway. i don't know i guess i didn't put to much mind on the voice subject.

I noticed it his reply he sead for "Legal reasons" something must have happened to drop him and he must have signed something to keep quiet or it something that effects him in a bad way, ether way it happened I really liked his voice and all but Im not going to complain unless I find it unbearable.

It's not like they're changing the voice actors of Kane or Lynch. 47's a real stoic guy; David Bateson's probably had three pages of dialogue to read over the whole series.
Oh, and a petition probably won't change a game that is practically done.

He sounds very much as batman I can´t help myself. But I think this all talking about bateson... Please stop it already. It is a waste of time. When the game comes out and you get it, you will stick it inside your computer/ps3/xbox so quick and forget that Bateson ever existed. Becouse If you play it and I know you all will like it, you will play it again and again and again. We all are going to love it! It is a Hitman Game with new mechanics, fluid, better moves better graphics and this time with a good story. So I have a good picture from trailers, videos...I am really looking to that they when me and 47 meet again and pull it of once more!
