Well, they doing quite a lot of advertising for this game, compared to the last Hitman games, I'm sure they'll earn enough to make a nice profit. And in the end, isn't that what it's all about?

Hitman has a strong cult following with eager people waiting six years for a new game. Plus, I'm sure the All Saints trailer give the game a lot of attention. I also heard Absolution was the most talked about game at E3 with a lot of people wanted get hands on with the demo. So I'm sure the game would sell well.

^ the most talked about game at E3 2012 was Watch Dogs followed closely by Beyond Two Souls or The Last of Us.
Hitman has more than a small (cult) following. maybe back in the days of silent assassin it was a cult game, but not after blood money with it's polished console controls and varied missions and colour palette. The Hitman series is more like a middle child franchise now, however November isn't cramped up this year with releases amazingly. Call of Duty Black Ops 2, Halo 4, Hitman Absolution are the only notable pre-order chart releases for november, everything else is spaced between august, september & october. It is an obvious race to the top between halo 4 which looks fresh and vibrant, versus the muscle memory purchases of the CoD morons who live on the multiplayer servers. Christmas sales are known for increasing sales a substansial amount, if this was 2007-11's christmas window I would say H:A would be lost in the scramble for most line-ups. I see Absolution making the 500,000 sold copies on the NPD by Christmas where games like Max Payne 3 failed to reach such a goal. The real interesting sales will be to see which format sells the most copies, 360, PS3 or PC. |

Well, I feel that Hitman Absolution will be at the least modest success. I think that Absolution will be very popular at the time of it's release, especially due to preorders, thanks to the sniper challenge, although it won't be the MOST popular game of this holiday season. I mean, now we have such big name releases coming at this time of year. Call of Duty Black Ops, Halo 4, Assassin's Creed III, and now, as of yesterday, Far Cry 3 is coming December 4. So Hitman Absolution will have it's hands full, but I've gotta say, E3 was a great event for Hitman. Gameinformer gave the game a best of show award, while Gamespot users voted for the best games of E3, in which Absolution was placed at a fantastic 9th, ahead of 41 other games, which is pretty cool and since they showed off the King of Chinatown gameplay, the hardcore fans have gotten into the game. Plus, Absolution has set fire to the internet with that Attack of The Saints trailer. It wasn't an intentional marketing scheme according to what they've said, but a lot of people have definitely become interested with the game simply because of this alone. So here's what I think will happen, Hitman Absolution will see plenty of preorders from Gamestop, Amazon, Best Buy, and others to be tremendous in sales, especially from Gamestop. Then, the game will sell very well in stores up until New Year's simply because of the holidays. Holidays are such a great time for releases as everybody's buying everything and anything, so the game will get it's greatest amount of sales here, along with the Halo and the like, and then sales will slow down into 2013. I also have to say that with the game releasing on November 20th, this gives Absolution a chance to get more sales for the Thanksgiving holiday too, as people will be home on vacation with their families, and what's better way to give thanks for everything you have than blowing up the King of Chinatown and his car?
