Default My own concept as to how the legacy should end

(i also posted this in the general LOK forum)

This is just a personal idea i came up with after playing Defiance again, but wouldnt it be amazing if Kain decided that the only way he could find the answers as to how Nosgoth can be restored....he travels back to the time of the war between the Ancient Vampires and the Hylden!
Think about, everything you see on those murals as Raziel you get to see first-hand as Kain. You get to meet many Ancient vampires, battle the Hylden, even have a face-off against the Hylden Lord (with a subtle reference to BO2, with Kain saying something like "i know you, i have defeated you before")

And the best thing (for me) would be that Kain would then have some monumental role in the actual construction of the Pillars, thus explaining why he is appointed as Scion of Balance when he is born many centuries later, and also explaining why he didn't die when his heart was torn out (because if he did die, the Pillars could never have been made and the Paradox would be tremendous). And it would then also explain why the Elder God wants Kain dead so badly, so that the Pillars would never have been made and the Vampires would not be cursed with immortality.

How's that for a concept?

Maybe, it would make the story a lot more complicated. (Winces in pain and clutches head at the present complexity.)

Perhaps Kain uses one of his disguise powers, (which according to BO2 he doesn't actually lose,) so that the Ancient (mortal) vampires don't realize that he's not really one of them. (More like the murals of him.)

It could be that he's the prophet that makes sure everything is in place for the scion and the messiah. (The forges and other artifacts of importance.) And telling Janos the name of the chosen one.

Do you mind if I steal your idea for a fanfiction, or were you planning on using it yourself?

definitely.

i hope he has to fight like Hash's older brother Smash, who we'll call Smashy for now. Smashy says "[insert cool stuff right hurr]" and Kain eventually kills him anyway with blood drops (like the Mass in BO2) because they're all tied together somehow in an even more twisted and complicated plot that will be revealed. Kain finally says "Ah the heck with it.. I'm gonna beat my former self to Razzy and resurrect him pure of spirit." This creates a fatal paradox somehow someway and the whole thing goes down the drain (like the Lake of the Dead). We the fans angrily rant on-line for years and years to come.

once was enough, Kain has better (punch lines) than "i know you, i have defeated you before?"

Hash said more would come after him in BO2 at the hands of Kain. make it happen LOK Team.

hehe thanx guys, i only came up with this in a flash i didnt exactly work out the details.

But anyway, if not fighting Hash you should fight some other Hylden bad ass somewhere near the end.

What could also happen is that Kain would purify the sight of the Ancients, making them see that they've been worshipping a giant squid and realising that they have been used and manipulated. Thus the Ancients and the Hylden join forces to defeat the Elder God and raise the pillars to banish him.

And so the vampires and the hylden live happily ever after with Kain as their leader.

ok, thats just silly but oh well

That needs no explaining, and makes no sense anyway! The whole series occurs BECAUSE he is born the scion of Balance, so it needs no explaining, it was just a random part of the story! If the new scion of balance happened to be Cat Deely, we'd have "The Legacy of Cat Deely"! There need not be reason behind Kain being the scion as that's the reason the series exists! Reasoning with reason just gets silly!

I find this one of the most interesting Threads in the Forum.....
I like the way you think Walt...but don't you think that there is some sorta "gap"...what will happen to Janos?! , Mortaneous?!....
I believe in 70% of your theory , I'll be 100% convinced if you can answer these questions.....
