Default More DXIW problems

So after reading the forums i'm stilll having problems with DXIW

Specs 2.4 AMD athon XP pro, 1 GB ddr400 legend ram, Gigabyte Raedon 9200 with latest catalyst drivers, lots and lots of hdd space. Creative vibra 128 the (ct4080 chipset)

Running DX 9.0b and Deux Ex IW version 1.2

Problem: Lightmaps go dark, shadows flicker on and off, textures dissappear into thin air (on anything animated), and characters become walking meshs of light. Dialouge skips and or shadows.
the intro movies jerk and the sound cuts out and the game randomly crashes (infrequent).

I tested it on my wifes computer of similar specs and had most of the same issues

Whats going on guys? problems like this should be fixed after 1.2, didnt you learn anything from that disaster you called Archronox?

But most likely i've screwed up something. Any advice anyone?

With that GFX and soundcard, we are not looking at the height of compatability here

The GFX will only run this with pretty much all details off and I can see that soundcard having a right hissy fit with the ported xbox sounds...

I can only really offer you the usual stuff:
Make sure ALL drivers (iuncluding MOBO) are up to date
Run Windoze update.
Defrag
Try the WIN2K compatability mode
Set AA and AF to application

Other than that, what resolution/refresh and detail are you running at? Any other odd hardware in that box? MPEG cards? TV Cards?

So i figured out it was the game constantly checking for the cdrom, fix got the nocd crack. You guys probally dont condone stuff like that but the game runs flawlessly now

i've been running it @ 1024x768@85Hz and getting between 80-90 fps, (bar the cdchecking causing chunks) after installing the nocd fix my fps has become alot better (i havent checked how much) movies dont skip and game and sound doesnt skip anymore. So it turn out it was the cdrom (or drive) the dirve is still a relatively new mitsi 48,40,12. But anyway that was my problem i know cd cracks are naughty but i fell i've got my moneys worth now.

Cheers

-awesome game by the way just a bit short.

Good for you. I have problems with DX:IW too. It runs at a slideshow; 10 fps maybe less. I don't know why. I haven't downloaded the 1.2 patch. I don't know if it will help. Anyway, maybe I'll download the nocd crack of yours. Can u tell me where it is? Tnx. Here are my system specs:

P4 Extreme 3.6 Ghz Processor w/ HT
GeForce FX 5950
1 Gig DDR Memory
Sound Blaster Audigy Extreme 7.1

I would but Eidos would probally send out some ninja's to kill me for it. dont use it unless you have, my lagging out was because of the constant cd checking if your only getting 10fps its probally not the cd drive (or rom). The 1.2 patch definately does help try that first before anything else.

Its a shame so many people could run this game out of the box, but unfortunately eidos and (specially) ion storm have a bad past of rushing games with bugs out the door.

Come on guys your games are brillant (deus ex and archronx exspecially), but having to wait for patches and mes around in techincal forums is really just a pain in the ass.

They'll never take my advice because games like Deus Ex are freakin awesome once you do get it running nicely, and they'll never lose a customer for it.

If you give us a clue what settings you are running on we may be able to help....
Also drivers would be good

Allow me to respond with something a total moron told me once, note I only had to change one sentence to make this pertain to your post. Read on:

so thers the highlights of your completely illogical troubleshooting process. Sure Eidos and ionstorm have a bad rep for releasing buggy games. but if you where part of any technical community involving games or even knew what you were talking about you would have known the risk of buying it.

but this probally isnt even the case here should should probally look at YOUr system, having the latest hardware doesnt mean jack if your a moron and cant even set it up yourself.

Whats more is that no one can help you since you spent the whole thread moaning instead of posting you systems specs up

you said "Specs 2.4 AMD athon XP pro, 1 GB ddr400 legend ram, Gigabyte Raedon 9200 with latest catalyst drivers, lots and lots of hdd space. Creative vibra 128 the (ct4080 chipset)"

Is not posting your system specs, that is posting a load of crap.

Its users like you that makes tech support not even want to be bothered with helping people on the forums. If its that bad just go out and by yourself a playstation 2.
