This strange phenomenon happened twice, recently today. I'm sure it's probably just lag, but who knows? I even got proof! Yes, I have discovered The Ghost Bomber of Sibuyan Sea!
[ghoststory]This is the tale of the B-17 crew that was sent off to fight in the famous batle like everyone else. However, his squad was receiving unmerciless AA fire from the ground and the sky, shooting holes all over the plane. By the time they were over their target, a pair of Japanese airfields, one of their engines had quit working and another was ablaze. The bombardier opened the doors and released the bombs. As soon as the final bomb had been dropped, the plane gave in to the AA and fell from the sky, but not without one last hurrah. The plane plummeted from the sky in a cloud of smoke and landed on the hangar it was bombing. The bombs had done nothing, but the shell of the plane crushed and destroyed the hangar in a massive fireball. Later that battle, the carrier USS Waspwas trying to flee the destruction that was being brought upon by the Japanese battleships and race to the nearby American airfield. It had just launched a squad of Wildcats when a mysterious figure was spotted in the sky in front of the carrier. The lookout reported it was a lone B-17, looking like it was coming in for a landing. They cleared the decks and watched as the B-17 came to a stop before the island that was part of the carrier. Then it swerved left and then right, about to crash into the island when the plane oodly passed through it unharmed before disappearing. They say it's the old B-17 looking for a place to land.[/ghoststory] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a true story, and it happened twice where I could see it. The first time, I was a destroyer and someone else was the carrier. It came in perpendicular to it and passed through the island. The second time, I was the carrier and it did just what the story said. I was pretty amazed since it didn't register as a plane in a squad. I thought I would share it with you to see what you think. Here's pictures of the first and second encounters, respectively: ![]()
