Finally I got TRA. When I instaled it it wouldn't start, it wanted me to insert the "original" DVD, but it turns out that Alcohol was the reason so I uninstalled it and everything worked, phew, I thought I'd have to exchange my DVD and all, waste time with support teams etc.
Ok, just first impression - it's rediculus, what she's wearing in the first level in a place like that! Lara is sexy and all but there ARE sexy winter outfits for god's sake! In Legend at least she was dressed appropriately. I'm sure it's been discussed. ANd probably that's what she was wearing in TR1, I don't know, I only played TR2 and Legend. But now without those two guys on the radio and spooky deep, low sounds the atmosphere is so different from Legend. And you're facing animals rather than people, which is again more scary, I don't remember being affraid going around the corner in Legend. Other than that - we'll see, I just killed my first wolves so, yeah, that's where I am right now, can't tell much more about the game. |

Well apart from a few problems here and there, I think you should pretty much like it!
Welcome to thhe forum, btw!! If you need any help, you're in the right place. As for her attire/clothing, although I never took notice of it, I must agree with you! And yes, the atmosphere is certainly different, and with the added bckgrnd music, it certainly creates an interesting and suspensedul atmosphere!

Ok, more things to note as I "advance" in the game (i play like one check point a day, no time to play really... Though it seems like I have enough time for internet surfing)
I just reached the big door after the series of flying spears or smth, and so far not a single "enemy" touched me, I mean I killed them all from some elevation. The first two wolves should come out when you step on that breaking bridge really, that'd get you by at least a little surprise, but they show up too early and I just shot them from above. Then I wanted to get that artifact but couldn't find a way so I thought I'd have a chance to get it later and I was right. WHen i was told to jump towards the rope I remembered about my artifact and decided to check the downstairs by climbing down the wall and that stupid bear scared the cr*p out of me with his roar after which I shot him from where I was standing, on some stone, out of his reach. Fine. I thought those were two lucky kills (3, technically since 2 wolves). But then when I got through that series of flying sharp things I climbed the wall on the left just to hear the wolf howl and I just shot him well.. Not from above but from around the corner, he just stood there. WHen I went down that pathway to get to the poles and swung towards the other side I hear another howl... Well you know what happened to the wolf. I swung back and shot him from the left side through one of those arches. I didn't notice the second one so when I happily got to the right side I almost crap*ed my pants. I already saw someone saying that animals are stupid in this game, but they could at least appear more unexpectedly. Or is it because I'm on the "medium" setting or smth and I wouldn't hear the howls otherwise? The game looks great though, I disagree with people who say it's the puzzles that matter and TR1 was better despite crappy graphics. If you want just puzzles then buy a book with puzzles or smth, or maybe a math textbook and solve all the special tricky problems.. It is much more enjoyable to walk around when everything looks so nice, don't you wish to go to a place like that? Well without the bears and stuff. |

Well I can say that the frist level was easy for a reason. And a good reason:
It's the frist level people play, it should give a good impression while not be d*** right frustrating! As you progress, they will get harder, and you will get animals scaring the hell out of you from time to time with some added ambient and background sound effects/music. Don't worry, it's just the start, wait till you get Greece, where things spice up a little, I think that was my favorite country!!

You say this level is easy - well it is and it is meant to be. wouldn't you just hate it if you started the game up and couldn't figure out what to do?
At least the howling is scaring you. That's something right? There are some players who are saying the whole game was too easy - but I disagree, it does get progressively harder as you go along. Welcome to the forums and enjoy the rest of the game.

k.. I killed all the raptors from some stone again
Funny thing happened with the bear that appears from around the corner, I wanted to trick him and go back under the stone where I came from (you know you gotta crouch there) but the beast just stood there waiting and sadly you can't shoot while crouching, so I had to come out and let him bite me as soon as I did T-rex was fun! I lost at first 'cause i didn't quite figure out that rage attack thing and lost all my shotgun ammo.. THe second time it was pretty easy, but fun nontheless I just think it'd be better if we had to climb somewhere and throw switches and stuff to release some heavy stones or smth. YEah.. That rage attack thing takes some time to master It's so hard to stop shooting and wait for the damn crosshair I had I smile on my face when I got to the Lost Valley, "now that looks familiar" I thought It's good that they made it the demo level so I found the shotgun right away and it was very useful.

TRA was a nice game but I somewhat still like AOD.It felt like the Lara I used to know in the PS1 games. The new Lara feels different.Anyways looking forward to seeing Lara on the PS3.

Hey PrA!NzER! You gonna love this game! Don't worry about scaring parts. One black panther scared the s**t out of me and my friend while playing it. And that's only at one point.

I just got past Centaurs...I can´t believe how easy they were on Normal difficulty...
It took me about 3 or 4 tries and they´re dead..it was a nice battle, only the camera made them difficult to shoot...

Ok, I just finished it. It wasn't hard on the medium difficulty. Of course Natla was the hardest, I couldn't figure out how to jump so that I end up behind her and shoot the damn green spot. And the big legless mutant was a joke. Overall, the game was pretty good, better than Legend for sure, it's just sometimes it pissed me off in the pyramid level when you have to jump on those platforms in a tall room with lava and every time you shoot at the next button, two flying mutants appear. It was fine with me but when Lara died 'cuz I didn't jump correctly the checkpoint started with the two flying beasts again, I got tired of shooting them.
Time trials were easy in Legend but here the levels seem much bigger, I don't know if I even want to attempt a time trial... |

I tried Egypt first but I soon realized that I forgot all of it already and you have just enough time to do each jupm, etc. once. So now I'm doing Peru, which isn't bad, though I finished the first part like 2s before the time ran out. It'll be nice to do the Lost Island levels, it gives probably the most useful cheat.
