Brainy PC person needed please

Can anyone tell me why my PC has suddenly started giving me this message when I first switch on?

CMOS settings wrong, CMOS display type wrong. Press F2 to load default values and continue.

So I can press F2 and everything is OK but I don't like this message. Anyone know what it means?
